what is kung fu?
yingampyang replied to avxsk8erpunk's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Kung-fu , is one of the begining styles one of the styles that started it all , and it has been around for many thousands of years. If you know you martial arts well enough then you should already know this, but for the beginiers the post replys in this topic would be very useful. -

snake style kung fu
yingampyang replied to shequan's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
I have learnt this style, and it is a very interesting style and good to know. I dont have any book resources but u can try this site https://www.shaolin.com/snake_martialarts.aspx im sure that might help -
1: you need to spar with others to develop you skill because every oppoent is different. 2:If the sparing is coming naturally to you then that is great i wouldn't worry about changing. 3:Well i wouldn't do it but what ever is comfortable for you and helps you win then u should do that. But i would think of the situation at hand and my oppoent then attact with the correct move. 4:No sorry i have no videos

I have had that same response from many martial artist, even professionals that have been doing martial arts for 20-30 years. You are blinded y the amount of styles but what you lack to see is the individual styles , and as a person who has done many styles i dont do each of them individually , i do them all as one style i only take what is useful to me. Now when i train in these styles i could clear my mind of any other styles and just focus on the one at hand. Remember that martial arts is not all about styles and the phyical sense, but a hugh part of it is mental , and if the person carnt cope then that is a weakness of their mind.

That is true , but there are many people who can handle the presure of more than say 5 styles, and these people want the chanllenge. Im not sayin that everyone can or should do many styles , im just sayin that it is the best way to become a truely great martial artist.

Baguazhang
yingampyang replied to Kajukenbopr's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Yes i have seen many people that say that they can teach it but know little about it. After a while i started to take what was useful to me and didn't pay attention to the others. -
Ahh good topic , i train my students all the time on how to get quicker kicks. Its all about the retreat , after u have kicked u should bring you leg back quicker than you kick, this way you will be ready to apply an other kick , and in fact apply more damage. When you train yourself like this you will see that your kicks and leg control will be much better.

Baguazhang
yingampyang replied to Kajukenbopr's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
really? not the footwork, their Wrestling moves, etc? What have you found completely useless about it? I have done many styles in my time in the martial arts , so i have come across these moves before, or simuliar ones. so wen i did it i just didn't find anything interesting about it. i May have contiuned if i didn't already know many of the moves. -
Thankyou for your respect to the martial arts. And i hope you can stay motivated for many years to come. Kind regards Ying&Yang

I think you might be right to a certain degree. You need to research it more , im not completely sure so i wont answer a question unless im 100% sure. Sorry.

You should speak to the sensei , and if the problems keep going then change schools.
