  1. I like your timeframe and your understanding that you have much to learn yet. Dreaming of your own style is great too. Understand that success is kinda based on recognition and acceptance. It's not an easy thing to accomplish. Hold on to your dream. Practice hard. In about 20 years see where you are at. Good luck
  2. Welcome to the forum. Glad that you are here
  3. Her gymnastics skills are very good. Very flashy.

    BBQ

Gee, I'm surprised with all the work that men do in the BBQ process that you can fit it all in a day's work
  6. Just thinking...maybe Kung Fu is sped up karate??

    Did I pass?

You said that your aim is to perfect your kata? That's great but know that it will take a lifetime. Good luck
  8. I like the ranking system. I think that it is somewhat important too. I like the older kyu belting system where there were fewer colors and students wore the same belt for a longer period of time (White, Green Brown...) but I can see the need in these times for more belts in-between.
  9. What kind a Wado? Wado Ryu, Wado Kai, Wado Ki? I understand that there are a few different ones. I knew a Wado Ki instructor years ago...excellent fighter. I am sure that his skill was a combination of the style, constant practice and his natrual abilities.
  10. //Good idea.. Maybe it's medical related
  11. Let me use an example. Harold Long, Isshinryu, (and a few others I might add) received their black belt in 18 months as stated in their bios. In his perticualar case, being in the military and having military training (and also being of a military mind for protecting ones self) from what I understand spared quite well before he started martial arts (probably). From that point it was a matter of learning technique, kata and control of his mind, body and spirit. My understanding is that there are a number of people who received BB in Japan or on Okinawa in 2 years or less. Respectfully to all..
  12. It has been done by some highly respected individuals who eventually reach master levels (in 18 months). My point is...it can and has been done
  13. You're a lucky man!
  14. Welcome
  15. Ooops I missed the link. but went back to it. ... very nice!
  16. Apparently mine is defective... and as you get older it gets more defective So you have that to look forward to Aaagh. Don't say that. I just received my first AARP solicitations. And I'm not close to 50 yet.... Respectfully, Sohan Sorry. You might be one of the lucky ones
  17. I did some research on her awards and was able to confirm a lot of them. She is a terrific business person who is very well documented. I am not questioning her MA abilities. I can't find anything to confirm her MA background but that doesn't mean anything either I suppose. Most of the information that I have found lists her MA grandmastership but, more than likely they are writing down what she told them. If anyone is interested and in her area watching a class might help. But then it might not.
  18. If you look at MA as swimming, Shodan means that you graduated and that you can finally leave the kiddy pool and enter the shallow end of the big pool You learned to keep you head above water, don't swallow the water, don't breathe the water in your nose and have a basic sense of comfort in the water Just MO
  19. From way back... Doors, Alice Cooper More recent time Five for Fighting
  20. Where is her headband? I don't know her so I can't comment on her. Her site is professionally in that she markets her product very well it seems
