Fairfax_Uechi made a good point. why change after getting started. Working on another style in addition to the one that you have a black 1st in may be more beneficial to you. There is so much out there in MA to learn. Read up on a number of availble MA look at a few classess in your are and see what excites you. Personally I enjoyed all of the MA that I have taken. Looking back, there are others I wish now that I would have experienced too. There is only so much time in a lifetime though. I'm wishing you the best of luck in your search and decision

I like your last sentence. Failure also makes you appreciate success more...and you will see that after your next testing. Keep working hard.

Wow, I have never seen such a thing -- thankfully.

Poll for instructors: How supportive is your spouse?
patusai replied to ArmorOfGod's topic in Instructors and School Owners
I consider myself retired so I don't teach anymore. However, I can tell you that my wife would not appreciate spending time away from other things that need to be done around the house. Doing it together seems like an idea but my wife has no interest what so ever...never did. Besides, the money part...I'm sure that nobody is doing it for the money. It just does not pay enough -
the bo is good for beginners but it takes a long time to really master. From a legal standpoint you can't go wrong. I mean you can carry it around with you without problem...it's just a stick. The only problem is that it requires more space then the other that you mentioned to perform and practice it right. If you have the room for practice do bo would be my suggestion.

If your talking about the hand hel stunner thing that you have to make skin contact (they even go through leather) you'd probably win. If it is a tazer type thing that shoots out stunning rods then it depends on how accurate his shot is since he can shoot it before you can get close I believe. An interesting questino, for me at least, would be if it is a hand held that requires contact for him before he can set it off if it hit your blade and was set off what would happen to you? I think it would stun you through the grip but I am not sure. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT SUGGESTING YOU TRY IT! STUN AND TAZER TYPE GUNS CAN DISRUPT THE HEARTBEAT TO THE POINT WHERE IT CAN CAUSE BIG TIME HURT, PROBLEMS OR DEATH. BY THIS I AM NOT SUGGESTING THAT HIS WEAPON IS MORE LETHAL BUT IN THE HANDS OR A NON TRAINED PERSON IT CAN BE MORE PROBLEMATIC TO EITHER ONE OR BOTH OF YOU.

with the school cuts money ends up going into the wrong pockets. They cut PE and other non academic activities and yet, in the areas around me some superintendants make over $200 thousand a year. Teachers at at or above $60 thousand a year. Some of these salaries are given to administrators and teachers yet, academically, 30% of the students meet minimum state requirements academically.

Excellent!! Thanks

Looking for a ridiculous MA flick?

They Call Me Bruce but then I really don't watch MA movies anymore -
I got a bag of Fritos out of the vending machine this afternoon and I, for some reason, remembered back to when I was a kid. I stopped at the corner store while coming back from school with my grandfather and I remember the Fritos bag to be much smaller than the regular size bag is today. I think it was one ounce. Today there are plenty of different sizes. I think that we are being encouraged to eat more. Eating more makes us want to eat even more, food companies make more money, doctors and drugs makers make more money because we are killing outselves and, all in all, the economy gets a good shot in the arm. We're doomed!

A mix? Good point! From the style name Shintora-Kai I'm not sure what styles though. Sometimes it is easy to determine that from the name. If you find out let me know please.

Your eating replacement idea seems like a good start at that end of it. My idea of a long walk is at least 5 miles. Perhaps one of the others who has a sports training background will be of more benefit to you. Good luck
