  1. Moose stew? I never knew there was such a thing. Is it good or is it an aquired taste?
  2. Nah, can be quite good. One of my favorites is to take a Boboli or similar crust, add onion, pancetta (italian style bacon), apple, gorgonzola and rosemary. MMmm.....I'm hungry just thinking about it. Aodhan Sounds excellent! First thing in the morning I'm gonna get some Boboli and try that one! Thanks.
  3. Excellent news all around. Congratulations to you and you wife. Best wishes for the future
  4. Welcome Arthur!!!
  5. Congratulations on a job well done
  6. A warm welcome to you Shotokan-kez. Good luck on your upcoming test
  7. Both are simply a way of defense. Who wins depends on many factors. Training, the individual, the instructor and even where one stands in relationship to the other before the battle (sun, swells and mounds in the gound, asphault, concrete grass, dirt weed and sugh things like that). I'll admit that I use to worry about who or what is better. In time I think people stop worrying about such things and concentrate more on training
  8. Bad idea IMHO. Basics are the cornerstone to good MA.
  9. I would agree...although punching I believe is a bit different but that can be overcome
  10. Congrats...keep posting!
  11. Condolences to his family.

sorry to hear about your injury. I'm hoping the best for you
  14. I'd vote forearm. I have seen great breaks done with a firearm much like Brandon Fisher spoke of
  15. Quite a little too much....very entertaining though
  16. Agreed. I don't think that there is a best just a best for a particular situation
  17. Quite a lot of links here. From what I have viewed thus far...quite interesting. Thank you
  18. I practice weapons kata not so much because I can use it in the street but rather for the "tradition" of it.
  19. Master = after a lifetime of serious study...possibly
  20. As Sohan mentioned...it is all about practice, practice and more practice. The best of luck to you. You'll do fine. From what you have said, your sensei is strict on form and technique but it appears that they take the extra time to make it all happen. You'll be just fine.
