Wood block floor its the worst floor ever it completly messes your feet up when you train and i think personally training without shoes is a mistake because how many fights do you have wearing no shoes???
-
I understand what you mean. I always have a problem with my knucles on hook punches they always really hurt my hands so i dont really train them. I have found that keeping you finger nail short helps this allows you to make a tighter fist. Im really not sure how to help you. You know when you say you cant force you fist into a situation where this wont occur does it hurt when you do this or is it just physically impossible. If it hurts then you may want to work on your finger flexability.

I can only move down and i dont have the strength to get back up. I imagine it would be easier if you had your hand in the center of your body where it is strong and can support you whole upper body rather than the left or right side.
-
For me it would depend on the target. If i was aiming for a hard target i.e the jaw which is pretty much just bone then it would be an open handed strike. But if the target was relativly soft like the solar plexus then i would punch.

Haha eminem is quality I think the thing is to make sure everyone is in front of you so that you know where everyone is. But to be honest the best way is not to get urself in a situation where you against mulitple people you always going to lose.

What Not To Eat Before Martial Arts Class
Jay replied to dragonwarrior_keltyr's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I always eat about an hour before I have to eat as late as possible because by the second hour I start to get really tired and shakey if i havent eaten -
Hand held is much faster for me so I use that and also alot easier to use all the other functions that I need for my homework

What have you learned from your style(s)?
Jay replied to NightOwl's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
pwn=Basically means pown people which means kick the ... outa them I think the big thing that i have learn't is how to get power in your strikes using the whole of my body i quickly figured this out as im quite small I wasnt able to move people unless i used my whole body. Also the fact that your arms are strong in your center. -
hypothetical weapons tournament, what would you use?
Jay replied to alsey's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
I don't know why this is, but for some reason no one thinks that any Western civilizations or cultures developed any useful weapons or fighting forms. It seems that the only sword ever created is the Japanese Samurai sword. Because the west never held on tightly to it's old martial arts and weapons, so there isn't that sense of ancient 'mystique '. Rather they updated their fighting methods to fit the times. Eventually, swords were phased out for guns, grappling into wrestling, bareknuckle fighting into boxing, and swordfighting into fencing...they did have skilled swordsmen, fighters, AND fighting styles, but it seems to me at least that they decided to get rid of the old and mostly stick with the new. European weapons were hardly bad: crossbows, spears, bows, etc were used both in the East and west. Instead of the Bo, they had a quaterstaff, and while the sword design was different, both could be used fairly well for hacking away an opponent. However because the samurai were around for so long, they are the last people who lived literally by the sword, and as such they have an air of romanticism and nobility that we sometimes long for (although chivalry has never been a common in either culture for the most part). This is true, however, there are a lot of people out there reconstructing the old systems, and there are some very good medieval stylists out there. There are also some very good websites. The other thing that gets me is that many people who 'practice' Eastern weapon styles do forms, but no weapon on weapon practice. The exception seems to be kendo, but I can't think of any others, aside from the Fillipino styles. True, alot of weapons are just used in forms and not trained with for fighting purposes Jodo and iaido do weapon on weapon practice -
Technique posture and power sourcing

Hand Before Foot the punch comes straight without cocking the hip just fire it out and when it starts to travel then use the hip this is difficult but then again it is sparring so you dont need to be worried about power unless it is continued until somebody gets knocked out. Also you can use your telegraphing to you advantage for feints etc make them think they know what is coming then choose a different attack.

In Your Opinion, What is the Most Superior Weapon?
Jay replied to TigerCrane's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
KATANA hands down will beat anything except maybe a BO but that can be cut up. Weapon really is irrelivant its the skill of the user a skilled user of say the fans could take down someone with a stronger weapon eg a sword -

Jay replied to alsey's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
Katana no question its the best weapon there is in my opinion although the chinese broad sword comes close and also the chinese spear. I love nunchuku but they lack control when you stike an opponent so im going to go for a Katana. -
The wii looks better than it is i was expecting it to be about 10/10 but when i played it some of the controls are very difficult so i give it 8/10 its still awsome though

I think the DS i have never had so much fun when about 6 of us were playing DS at school all playing mario kart its just so fun i can explain it just the laughs and pleasure you get from pushing your friends of the track or turtle shelling them. PSP is good but not as much fun.

Of course but its better than being afraid to live
