  1. I 100% agree with you all. I just want it for fun, and a challenge for myself. I love the traditional way as well. But, it's fun to change it up, and keep things fresh! Thanks for the replies!
  2. Impresive! You truely earned your BB that day. Full contact with groin... .man... I give it to ya. Nothing is worth a shot to the ballz!
  3. LOL... it's almost too funny to watch. You know how Jackie Chan Movies are.... well this was worse. I had to stop watching it in English, and just read the subtitles.
  4. Yeah, they need to come out with a new tournament game. Like K-1 Grand.
  5. You should be fine. Stay away from trying to lift really heavy. Push-ups, sit-ups... cool! You can even go to the gym and lift some weights, just don't try to pack it on. Let your body grow and develop more. You're in the prime stage at your age for development. Stay away from Creatine and all the stuff until you near 18. I didn't start taking anything like that until I was 22, and I had been throwing weights around for 5 years before that.
  6. Bart is his screen name, or his real name? Thanks BTW
  7. Ok.... Ok... everyone can stop the jokes. I know.. it seems stupid, just wanted to try something differnt
  8. Mee.. Mee...! I have two Jacksons Randy Rhodes V and a Dinky Reverse. Both with EMG 81 Bridge pickups. I also have a Dean M Accustic and a 46 year old Aria (Sounds amazing!) I play anything, but I love Metallica, and Pantera!
  9. Hey, you don't have to tell me man.... I was going to buy a 06 WRX STI. That thing would have drank gas as soon as I put it in. I bought a Scion tC. Yea, it's nothing special, but hey... good gas mileage, and it's cheap, so I can afford MA classes.
  10. You have a point. But another reason that I'm crossing out Judo is that the class is about 15 weeks long and we meet once a week. Now I went to a Judo dojo and observed a class and talked with the instructors and they said that you need to learn how to fall correctly before you can get into any Judo and in fact they teach Danzan Ryu Jujutsu for about 6 months before you can get into Judo. My point being, in order to learn how to throw you need to know how to fall and from my understanding, learning to fall correctly can take awhile and we have at most 15 classes at 1 hour and 15 minutes and I would think at least half of them would be about falling. Or they would skip throwing altogether and just work on ground work, in which case I would just do Jujutsu. And yes, I'm aware there is throwing in Hapkido and we would have to learn to fall correctly there too, but there is more standing skills than just throwing so they could teach us the striking and pressure points along with the ground work. I admit, I dismissed Judo at first as just being a sport, but I read what others had to say about it and my mind changed. It's just that I don't have the time to learn to fall correctly. You should cross Aikido off your list too then. You will need to learn "the walk" before you get into it (this involves learning how to fall and other things that relate to Aikido). Either way, you will not be able to jump into any school/dojo/class wherever it is, and expect to be Bruce Lee over night. Kicking, punching, blocking.... all requires conditioning, stretching, weight training if you want to kick higher, faster and more accurately. Cardio is a big factor in the striking and ground arts. Learning to fall I would think is much easier than any of those, but probably just as hard.
  11. If I had the money, and the time... I would love to cross train. Muay Thai & BJJ has always peaked my interest!
  12. LUNCHBOX! This is because I use to be really fat (5'8, 256lbs, 32%BF) Now...... 5'8, 194, 17%BF. I'm still a little chubby, but I'm still working at it. Starting to feel/see my 6 pack
  13. I played Guitar (Lead) for 6 years. Hard Rock, Metal! I love Metallica and Pantera!
  14. I think he was just trying to say "If you can only afford one of these".... But yes, if he can afford a Diablo, he can afford a $50 fill up
  15. I'm not where near BB, but this guy sure earned his. Posted by Drivr " Friday nights part of the test was the hardest and most psysically demanding things I have ever done. 4 mile run on the beach, 500 push ups, 500 situp, forms, then kicks. By the time we got to the kicks both my legs were cramping but I and the other 3 testing with me got through it. we went home around 10 that night after 4 hours of training and were back for the test at noon on Saturday. Everything went perfect. all the boards broke, all the patio blocks broke, we remembered our forms and the spinning jump in Chung-moo did not kill the ankle I sprained tuesday. All 4 of us got our confirmed 1st dan black belts."
  16. BTW.... where is your school, and what style do you teach?
  17. I have to agree Keep the "train hard" in your school. If I ever teach, I would want someone to quit (not that I want people to quit) because it's too hard, not because they're not advancing in belts!
  18. LMAO! That was good! Not trying to start flames, just wanted to try something different besides regular forms to do something different. I know it would be worthless in the real world... but it's still fun.
  19. Porsche! Why? Can you drive a Ferrari every day? Yes, but it would never hold it's value, and fixing it would be a big hole in the bank. Does Ferrari offer a warranty? LOL.... what do you think! To qoute someone..... "I own a lamborghini D, and BMW M3 (E46), a Porsche (996) 911 TT, as well as many other fast and exotic cars. Nothing else gets good gas mileage, has A/C that is cold, you can drive everyday, and is comforatble for a 6ft tall person and has over 400HP, then the porsche" This qoute came from the guy who built, owns and helped make the Movies "Fast and the Furious" He owns the Supra, and the RX7 in that movie. He also produced and helped with the game design of Need for Speed Undergound. Take the qoute for what it's worth. I have sat in Ferrari's (never driven, or been for a ride). But I have driven many Porsche's and plan to own one before I'm 30. I'm not saying these other cars of junk, all have their Pro and Con.. I'm just like the Porsche more!
  20. It would be awesome to instruct. MA is about teaching, and giving back!
  21. Well, are you going to push and train hard? Or just some brief...short to the point stretching and warm-ups?
  22. Well, I would have to say no music for Forms. But, music for warm-ups and for sparring. I would even go as far as to say play recordings of crowds cheering and shouting. This will teach the students to tune out noises and concentrate on their opponent. Personally, at home... I train to music. It get's me pumped (during warm-ups, stretching, and practice of kicking, punching and such). However, during forms, I don't. I get sloppy
  23. Aside from the JKD Vs. Karate speed, Bruce Lee was ripped, and a great martial artist. This is a good workout plan. Some of my muscles hurt just looking at some of the stretching. However.... times have changed, and so have MA. I would hope someone would train harder than this, but use this as a basis to build off of (My opinion)
