So really, the force is not in your hands, but your legs?

Is it possible to take a class just for the Bo? I have always wanted to learn, but the school I'm attending doesn't teach it. I don't want to not attend the school, because it's what I want, just without the Bo. Have you ever heard of someone joining another school just to take a weapons class?

Cannot leave dojo?

I doubt that would work. These people honestly do not care about you once they have you in. Sure, they'll teach you MA, but seriously... they're in it for their best interest. I'll state the facts after I'm out. -
A good MA video game

well you don't have to do that because I already have it.Some time ago I bought K-1 World Grand Prix. This game is pretty much like what you are describing, but it's even better.Because it has real fighters and when you fight theres actual foot work and realistic moves. The best part is that it's not a button masher, you have to see what areas are open to strike and deliver a punch or kick to that area.I seriously recomend it for people that are into martial arts.At least rent it at the video store. You can find it cheap and even cheaper used at game stores. good luck Dude, you're my hero! I didn't even know it exsited! Picking it up tonight! Does it actually have like "Training sessions" and stuff? -

That's awesome. I too hope to find a place like that. However, right now, I'm stuck with my stupidity..... for just a little while though -
I'm looking for a description of the different styles of karate. What I'm looking for, it the primary difference. Which one is more like this martail art, or which one is more sport/traditional. Are there any that are like TKD or TSD that emphasize more kicking? Thanks!

I hope you're not proud of this. You could have simply walked away. -

Haven't been to one yet, but I would say the first thing I would bring is a clear and focused mind. -
Brining Fiancee into Dojo

I wish my fiancee would join with me, but her own school work makes her very busy. Oh well... maybe down the road. -
I'm looking forward to creating my own....

I'm trying to do these atleast 5 times a week now, with light dumbells (around 30lbs a piece) I try to do as many as I can, after a full warmup and workout. It's the last thing I do, cause I go until muscle failure, and my legs are sore afterwards.

It's a shame that they haven't created a tournament MA game. Much like boxing. Where you train yourself, and go up againt challenges, then go to matches. I would mosdef buy that game. Maybe I should develop it -

That is hot. I'm looking to pick it up this weekend. -
My warm ups are: 50 jump&jacks 50 knee ups pushups till failure stretching all over (mainly legs) for about 25 minutes. 25 front and side leg swings for each leg. Then I'll begin training workout. Afterwards, I will stretch some more, do 100 crunches (slowly with correct breathing) Work my lower back, and do squats with minimal weights until failure. Needless to say, after this, I'm tired. Water is a keey part of keeping myself going through the warm up/workout. Also, eating about 90 minutes before hand give energy.

Stay away from flashy websites when it comes to Dojo's. Yes, it's a way to get people in the door, but word of mouth is better! I too say that place looks McDojo

I will tell you from my experiance (I like in Maryland). 1. Make sure you it's not a far distance to travel. This way, you won't make excusses not to go. 2. Make sure it will not break the bank. 3. Make sure they will make you earn your belt, and not give them out every 3 months. 4. DON"T SIGN A CONTRACT UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT IT INVOLVES! 5. Just because someone is certified, doesn't mean they're the best. 6. Try to find a place that emphasizes you warming up before the class starts. My class is 45 minutes long, and 20 minutes of that is spent stretching (joke) Good luck in your journey, and keep us updated!
