  1. Awesome. Thanks man! Good info! So far, it's still popping, but I'm going to give it some time. I have a test tomorrow night, then I'm not going to work my lower have until Saturday. Hopefully, that will give it some time.
  2. Well.... I don't really feel that way towards the instructors, they seem on point, and like they know what they're doing, but... I'm still new. Thanks for the info!
  3. Well, I can tell you from my experiance (Shotokan Karate for some time at age 10) and now taking TKD, that there is more of a focus, atleast from my stand point, on more kicking. Now, last night, we did focus on punching (jabs, blocks, crosses and upper cuts). We have a lot of little kids in our dojo. I can tell you they love it, and are move flexible than me. There is one kid ( I swear has to be like 8 years old) comes up to my chest barely and I'm 5'8. He's an advanced brown belt, and was doing some crazy stuff last night with the Kama's, not to mention his kicks and balance are out of this world. I would take your son to a few TKD classes (different dojo's) and see what he thinks. Maybe let him deside what he want's.
  4. What were your thoughts on it, versus the style you study now?
  5. Try not to focus on what the scale says. You need to focus more on how you look in the mirror, what your body fat % is, and you should also measure your waist, arms, chest, and legs. I also take bi-weekly pic's of myself to gauge my loss. This really helps, and helps push me harder. When you see results in your face, not just a number (Which could be water weight, muscle weight... you never know) it makes you really happy!
  6. Well, that's the main reason I do these at the same time. I keep my pull and push workouts on the sameday. I have found that this has increase my strength and ability to put up more weight in short time (Nothing crazy, but it's working).
  7. I guess my other question is, is there any pro's or con's in studying this style?
  8. Hey.... what's wrong with Frank Dux?
  9. Anyone? and where are you located?
  10. I too would like to know I had class last night, and it didn't bother me at all. My Master told me to take a night or two off from stretching, and any fast kicking movement to let things heal. So far, so good. But, we shall see.
  11. Well, I'm gonna give it a week and see if it goes away. My time is very limited right now, and I can't really afford to miss work for this. If by this time next week, I'm still hear/feeling it, I'll get it checked out.
  12. Thanks for the help man!
  13. I was just told about these in my other post about leg training. I did some research on it and it seems pretty easy, but I'm sure it's hard. I would try it at work, but for fear of looking like a dummy, I'll wait till I get home. I'll also consults my Masters wife tonight. She's a physical therapist. Hopefully, she'll have something that I can do for this. Thanks man!
  14. It's in the hip. Well, it feels akward because I know it shouldn't be happening. Someone in the office told me once I build up strength and stretch more, then it will go away. It's usually with a front kick that it happens, but can happen simply by my pulling my knee up to my abs, then putting it back down. Sometimes I don't hear or feel it.
  15. forgive my stupidity, but I have never heard of that. Can you explain?
  16. Cool, cool... Anyone else?
  17. What leg workouts do you guys do on a weekly basis?
  18. Hey guys, I'm kinda worried about this, and maybe you can help alleviate some of my worries. When I do a front right kick, after re-chambering, I hear/and feel a popping noice coming from my upper leg. I wouldn't say it's painfull, more okward. Anyone experianced this? My legs are sore from streching, and I took the day off yesterday, but I can't help to worry about this. Any ideas? Thanks! Chris
  19. LOL.... yeah, I know. It is a bit discouraging. I'm still trying to learn technique and proper form, while holding onto a chair to take balance out of the equation. Man.... I didn't even think once it was going to be this hard. Amazing how tough things can be when you attempt to do them the right way. I remember as a kid, just kicking and playing around for fun, pretending that I knew what I was doing. Funny how little I knew.
  20. I pay $200 a month. Yeah, it's expensive, but I can go at anytime between 9am - 9pm Monday-Saturday, and I have access to all the classes. After 3 years, it drops down to $50 a month for the rest of my life.
  21. Thanks for the info everyone!
