  1. I meet Jhoon Rhee 3 weeks ago. Nice guy, a great Martial Artist. He has done a lot for TKD and America.

  3. I'm still waiting to hear back from the school. I would drive up there, since it's 1.4 miles away, but I'm getting married this weekend. Maybe this week I'll swing by. I just started my new TKD school, so this might have to wait.
  4. No belt yet. Instructor at new school trains very hard, and believes that the student must earn their white belt.
  5. It really excites me to see students of lower belts pushed harder as if they were a higher belt. I think (My opinion) that reflects a lot on the school and the instructors. Students in schools like this should be proud to be a white/yellow belt.

  7. I wouldn't think muscle would be a disadvantage. Now, I wouldn't sit around and eat cupcakes and twinkies Up your calories until you start to gain. Keep and eye on your bodyfat with a caliper, and make sure you're gaining mass, not fat.

  10. The school I'm looking to attend is very active in it. I have seen there demonstrations with sticks, and applied it to knives as well. Very effective in street defense. Where are you located?
  11. Who here is studying Shorei-Ryu? There is a dojo in my neighborhood and I have read that this style is somewhat rare. I have read up on it, but who here is studying it, and can tell me their input on it? Thanks!

  20. Request a free lesson, and sit in on another and just watch. See how the classes are taught. See if you like the instrutors. By all means, sign nothing, pay nothing until you're happy with what you have, and will be happy in the future! I would say try to train atleast twice a week if not more. Remember, just because he's not certified, doesn't mean he's not good, and just because he is certified, doesn't mean he's not a joke! Best of luck to you!
  21. Your power for kicks is going to come from a strong abdominal region and lower back. Yes, doing 100 crunches a day goes seem like a lot, but I started off going 30, every 3 days, then worked my way to 100 every 5 days. I take two days off to rest, because abs are just like every other muscle, they need rest to grow. They will tighten up, but will only get really big if you eat enough food (the right food) or if you just shoot up on the juice. I do 5 sets of crunches.... 20 reps slowly, breathing out at the top, and in on the way down. You will really feel this when you start getting to your 3rd set. Then I do about 30-40 leg lifts. This is good because crunches don't always hit your lower abs. Remember!!!!! ABS are made in the kitchen, not the gym. If you don't eat a clean healthy diet, you'll never see them
  22. My bad. Yeah, I do that too, but I don't consider that a warm-up.... I guess a pre warm-up .. I do neck circles, shoulder swings, inside chest swings, hip swings, hip circles, back streches, and what I like to call "Touch heaven then hell" cause it hurts getting down there Then, I'll do my streches
