It's alright. Try throwing some weight sessions in there, atleast for your legs.

Do a search for Cloe Bruce. She can do it.

SNK2? I know I'm going to feel stupid once you tell me. Are these available for Xbox and PS2? -

What is one of the best fighting MA video games out there? I have PS2 and Xbox. Let me have it -
Excellent info!

Congrats. I'm about 3 months away from even getting a white belt

My pants are ellastic, so I pulled the string out. Pain in the butt!

Stretch man. My wife helps me out all the time. Plus my class kicks my butt, and they have people hold my leg up for like 5 minutes in a side kick stance, fully extended, and then they start raising it. OUCH

Old martial arts training methods

Man, I don't know about punching trees. I need my knuckles for my classes. We do knuckle pushups. How about, instead of driving somewhere short distances, like to the grocery store... run there, get your grocerys, and lightly jog back. Becareful not to break the eggs -
My friends like to punch and push each other around. I use to be one of the ones that took it. They have something coming to them now

All of your questions can be answered here. http://www.stadion.com/ Buy the video, watch the video, practice with the video. Then you'll be able to do a split. I bought it, arrived two weeks ago, and I like it. Goes well with my routine.

I'm personally not setting a time limit, or an expectation of getting one. Would I like to be a BB? Yes. Does that mean that I can defend myself or a loved one if in need? NO! Just because you say you can bench press 300lbs doesn't mean you can, and if you can, it doesn't mean you're doing it the right way. Just because someone is a BB, doesn't mean they're an experianced BB. When my instructor feels I'm ready to advance in belts, I will. I trust my instructor, and his knowledge.

People being awkward/angry towards MA
orion82698 replied to ProjectJanus's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Ignore it. I catch it at work all the time. They call me "the white billy banks" -
I don't think he should have hit the guy in the jewels, I would have personally walked away, unless the guy was begging to fight. The whole church thing is a joke. Just because he used self defense to take out a threat doesn't mean he's praticing a homosexual life. Another reason why churches are a lot like Martial Arts. There are some "McChurches" out there too.

Who here studies Jhoon Rhee TKD?

Yeah, it's a lot. I have found another place that is going to charge $75 a month if me and my friend join. I have heard from other MA's that this guy is good. My Uncle trains in Aikido, and his instructor also teaches a form of Karate, and even he said that this guy is good. So, I'm looking forward to it. -
LOL.... that makes sense!

Yeah, how did you get two belts?

I would say keep asking around in here. Do some research on some different MA's. Your back ground looks like you have moved around. TKD is fun, but $100 is pretty cheap. I'm paying $200 now at my current school. Now, the school that I'm looking to attend is $450 every 3 months, or if I get a friend to do it with me, it will be split in half, so really $75 bucks a month. Let us know what you find. Take my advice, look around, take some test classes, and think about it. I jumped into the first one thinking it was great, and soon found out that it's not what I'm looking for. -

Well, in all honestly, I don't think TKD is what you want. Perhaps maybe a form of Karate. Try asking in that forum, and see what you find. The school that I'm looking into now, does mostly foot work, but also incorporates Karate for hand combat. They also teach ground techniques as well. It's very hardcore at this new place I'm looking at, which is what I think my mind and body needs to be an excellent MA. I would like to compete (for fun) Perhaps if you could also list what you're willing to spend per month. Do you have any pervious MA experaince? -

First, I would ask you what you're looking for. I have done a lot of research on schools in my area (Baltimore) and I have only found so many that aren't McDojo's. The one that has caught my eyes is Master Apolo's school. He's the real deal, trains you very hard, and does stick fighting. I have been in contact with someone who use to compete and trained with Master Apolo and his brother. Where are you located? -

For the record, I'm in no way putting down or disrespecting Jhoon Rhee TKD. It's a great school, they have done a lot, and Grand Master Rhee is awesome. It's just not for me. Perhaps for someone else, but not me. -

Yeah, the belt tests happen every 2-3 months. And from what I saw, you graduate no matter what, I mean, unless you fall over. Black belt looked a little harder, but nothing to challenging. The place I went to last night, you don't even start off with a white belt. It takes almost 3 months to get white belt, and every test is a review of the belt before, and the belt your testing into. The black belt test is 2 days long. The Master said "this is how I was taught, this is how I train". I like that idea!. They do teach very good TKD at Jhoon Rhee, but this isn't as hardcore as I wanted it to be, and it's just too expensive! Yes, you do have to pay to test for every belt. $38 a test. -

It's expensive. $200 a month. They did the same thing with me too. But, I went down there, and signed up. I'm actually having to leave now, because of the price. It was fine 3 weeks ago when I signed up, but now... I got shot down on my promotion, and my wife is going to be outta work for a while, so I cannot afford $200 a month. I went to another school last night, and was blown away by what they could offer, for the price, and it's 4 miles from my house
