Work on speed. Try putting weights on your legs and ankles and hands. Train by yourself like this as much as possible. It will make you really fast. If your punches don't reach, you have legs, too. Good luck to you

I just got braces on my bottom teeth on Friday. That night, it was so sore, but I went to karate class and forgot all about my teeth. I use shock doctor and I'm not afraid of having them broken by a strike.

I love classical music... but I love just about everything I love classical guitar and piano, like scarlotti.

Welcome to Karate Forums, Nick.

White Warlock- I always love your replies. I like your idea of offering to get the guy a drink, and also to give your girlfriend your cell phone and keys. Those are such good ideas.

Yes, he did change the kanji so it read empty instead of Chinese. He talks about this in his autobiography

He scares me... yesterday, at the bike shop, which is the bike sellers home, my dad kept crashing into the guys plants and gates... and he has the pedals that you put your feet in to, he almost ate it trying to get into those. But he's getting excercise, and I'm making him wear a helmet.

I need help with a beginning...(writing question)

Are you going to publish this story or is it just for your own love of writing? -
Scenario 1: I would: Remain calm, ask him what he wants attempt to get him to leave us alone by trying to calm him down If everything fails, I will make sure my girlfriend is in a relatively safe position, and either kick the guy in the groin, do an armbar, or knock him down with a side thrust kick. I might also try spinning him around, putting him in a rear choke hold and using him as a shield from his buddy.

"The forty-six ronin did so on February 4, 1703. (This has caused a considerable amount of confusion ever since, with some people referring to the "forty-six ronin"; this refers to the group put to death by the Shogun, the actual attack party numbered forty-seven.) They were also buried in Sengaku-ji temple, as they had requested, in front of the tomb of their master. The forty-seventh ronin eventually returned from his mission, and was pardoned by the Shogun (some say on account of his youth). He lived until the age of seventy-eight, and was then buried with his comrades." I did not know this, glad I went to the website! Great website, thanks for telling me about it fallen_milkman!

I'm definitely going there in my spare time.

Every year in Japan, during the winter, they have Chushingura, the story of the 47 Ronin, on television. It's very difficult to understand, kind of like Shakespeare to the average speaker of English.

Sauzin- What are the stipes on your belt for? What do they signify? Just curious

How do you personally break bad habits? What is your suggestion? I have a few habits I would like to break myself of. Could you give me some tips and suggestions?

My father just got himself a commuter bicycle and plans on riding to and from work every day. It's 9 miles a day, 4.5 miles there, which is all downhill, 4.5 back, all uphill. The angle of the slopes are nearly 40 degrees on the way back. Do you think that this will be really good excercise for him? He started jump roping, but stopped and started walking the dog, but stopped. Maybe he's finally found something he will stick with. What are the benefits of bicycling on a commuter bicycle?

Congratulations... only 4 weeks, not bad. -
Oh that reminds me... anybody heard of the 47 ronin? I saw a museum at their shrine in Japan.

Your martial arts schools slow down during the summer? THey should go up because moms don't want their kids sitting around playing grand theft auto all summer. Most parents enroll their kids in something during the summer so they wont just sit around the house.

Yesterday, I went to go see the King Tut exhibition at L.A. County Museum of Art. It was so amazing! I couldn't take my eyes of half of the stuff. Anybody seen King Tut or some really cool exhibition? I'd say the coolest thing I've seen was Mona Lisa in France. What about you?
