IDEAL KUNG FU STYLE
Jack replied to MAVERICK's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
al no need to judge an art on one individual. You seem to be a bit full of yourself lately, try thinking before you put finger to keyboard. -
Sciatica is what my dad has. Its affected him pretty badly, I only hope you can continue your training without being too impeded, ZakariRu Sai's advice sounds like something you should definitely listen to, Bon

Since its so early in the morning its possibly just a sign of tiredness. Try having a longer more thorough warmup.

I tend to lean back a little, but this is only a result of thrusting the hips forwards to get more power.

Try this page http://www.enteract.com/~bradapp/docs/rec/stretching/ However, you may find this a bit complex. Despite this it is very informative and helpful. If you need any parts explained, just ask and I'm sure someone will lend a helping hand

1986? Havnt we already had a chat about how old you are in which you said something which would indicate you being a lot younger than that? I'm not being hostile here, just wondering after the damn truth! Your age seems to change a year a minute lol

AO, just out of curiosity, in what ways does Kata benefit that doing drills up and down the dojo doesn't? Out of all the benefits you listed, I'd say that they'd all seem to come from drills also. Not that I'm insulting your views at all here, just curious

Mine's 14th December... if often allows me to ask for one very very big present from parents. I'm hoping for XBOX, or perhaps filling out the floor of my back garden, putting a roof on top and adding mats so I have somewhere to train... fat chance!

Bretty thanks for sharing that about RICE, but isn't there more to it, for the next few weeks? Something about the use of a warm shower/bath to help, I'm not entirely sure. Perhaps if a new thread concerning this was made by someone who was knowledgable on injury treament using RICE, and warmth, then more people could read it and make use out of it. Any volunteers? lol

Doesn't 'expecting the unexpected' make the unexpected expected? -
Coughing, sneezing, blocked nose, soar throat, dry mouth, pounding headache, extreme dizziness and lack of balance, plenty of nausia and lying in bed half awake, half asleep for 5 hours in the early morning, and 9 hours later... thats my lesson learnt. I really opened up my immune system there.
