  1. Thanks Sai pooh bear, you have to upload it to a website and link to it. If you don't have your own webspace and can't use a friend's, you can email your picture to Patrick and he'll put it up. Just email it to him at patrick@ifroggy.com
  2. Beats a protein shake anyday
  3. The Irish day of eating plenty of potatoes! It was the break in the fast before Easter where the Irish eat lots of food. Why we celebrate it nationally, I havn't the fogiest.
  4. I'll do them on the Fridays then and rest up over the weekend. Thanks.
  5. Great thanks One last question, what sort of recovery time would we be looking at for Tabata sprinting? Would it be fine to do light training for a while the next day, and then go back to intense training?
  6. Hey all, I have another picture of myself. Be warned though, I was having a bad hair day and look really young in this pic, despite only being taken 6 months ago. I think I look far too young in this, but its the Camera, ok? ok. Click here!
  7. Yep Moobrack, its great once you get the hang of it.
  8. Yoda, what sort of use would Tabata-sprinting Intervals have when it comes to taking a 45 minute long, intensive grading? Would Tabata training be an effective method for this?
  9. A biology teacher at our school is the same grade as me in TKD, we get on fine. It can be quite the interesting experience exchanging roles, hope you have fun
  10. Sounds better than my Vanilla Whey Protein, with milk it is quite vile so I drown it out with a litre of orange juice. I am getting my next tub in chocolate
  11. Sounds tasty, Yoda
  12. Patrick's favourite day of the year Happy St. Patrick's day everyone.
  13. Dynamic Stretching is moving your joint through its whole range of movement. A great example of this is leg raises and leg swings. Do them gentle, 10 reps, front, side, and back, on each leg in the morning
  14. If you went with your mother, perhaps you could translate what others say to her, but get one of the Instructors there to show her the movements. Failing that, show her yourself with some light weights - you may also find yourself benifitting this way
  15. True Hiya, after a tough workout, it is good to eat a high carbohydrate, high protein meal within half an hour, since the carbs will help to restore glycogen supplies in the muscle quickly, and consuming protein within that half hour is the most important time for protein There is a lot of useful information on weight gain at: http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=1041&forum=19 Thanks.
  16. Interesting, at our dojang we are always taught to perform front kicks to strike with the ball of the foot, but I can see the value of striking with the top of the foot with a front kick to the groin. I'd imagine just about any other target however would be more effective with the ball of the foot.
  17. At the bottom of this page, you can go into the "Support Us" section, and there are some websites there which sell equipment including heavy bags... but I'd also think looking around locally would get you a more affordable offer.
  18. ram, it took me all of 60 seconds to load up this website, make a new thread and paste this Plus is it not worth a little bit of your time to help and inspire the others?
  19. I'd imagine that the water would hydrate the body, while the sugar would quickly restore Glycogen(sp) to the muscles. You could get a similar effect with a glass of water and a seperate sugary food like an apple, or candy if you have a sweet tooth.
  20. lol, I must have been on a roll

  22. van_damme, eating the right foods is very important and is helpful with definition, but if you don't accompany this with any sort of strength training, you will not be getting the best results you can. Considering your age, weight training is a bit risky since it could cause a whole host of bad effects, but if you added some pushups, pullups, and abdominal exercises then you would be helping your aim a lot more than simply eating the right things. Good luck
