  1. YODA - I looked cover to cover through mine and I couldn't find it. I may mention it to parents if we get the plans a bit more formalised.
  2. Also, since power is determined by multiplying mass with speed, you can work on your mass with weightlifting, and speed with explosive/pylometric exercises. A lot of it is mental though, and about confidence. Be as confident with your left as you are with your right. Give it everything, and practice practice practice. Best of luck! PS. I typed this whilst eating a chocolate muffin, now my keyboard is covered in chocolatey stains.
  3. Hey sabra - plenty of advice was given on weight loss in a very recent thread in this section of the boards by the name of "I need Help". Also feel free to join the Weight Loss Club thread so you and others with the same goals can help each other through. Good luck.
  4. So true, Drunken. I did mine about 20 minutes ago, after the Ankle weight leg raises and before the "Hold leg up as high in air using only the leg's strength until failiure". Oh yes, that was followed by the Interval Bike-sprint... My legs are going to kill in the morning! And I have Leg extensions/flexions to do as well. D'oh!
  5. Norwich here. If your idea was a meet-up, then as much as I'd like to my parents would forbid it. They're really quite anti-net, and don't like the idea of me meeting anybody off the net. [ This Message was edited by: Jack on 2002-04-07 15:09 ]
  6. Hmmm, I prefer writing stories to poems, since I'm not a whole lot of good with poetry. http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=701596 The one I'm working on at the moment, feel free to read and review if you so wish.
  7. Hey, welcome back Yoda! Hope you had a great time at camp, and thanks very much for the answer.
  8. Hmmm... not much but just one little tip which somehow seems to help with power in strikes is to imagine striking through your target as if you are aiming for something behind it.
  9. Hey everybody, I was just wondering what the recovery time might be for a long-distance run or bike might be? I'm estimating somewhere in the reason of one or maybe two rest days? I'm not talking about absolute intensity, something of a reasnoble intensity for half an hour. Any ideas? Thanks.
  10. Courtesy of Jack should Courtesy of Yoda, he first made the post introducing us to Tabata intervals. Dbz is actually sounds like you're not eating very much at all. Nothing too wrong with this except if you eat so little your metabolism will slow down to balance this out. To counter this you need to keep giving your metabolism boost. Caffeine is great for this, but dehydrates the body so make sure you have plenty of water to counter the affects. You can also boost the metabolism with 10 minutes cardio sessions to get the heart pumping fast. The thing which most people fall for are these "Slim fast" diets and all that commercialised stuff. The only thing that will do is lower your caloric intake, and maybe intake more healthy things... however, it does not take the metabolism long to slow down to counter this, so if you ever eat more than what's on that diet, it will have trouble coping with all that food and so you actually get more fat, lol. Eat little, keep the metabolism high, and keep hydrated with lots of water. And exercise like hell! Best of luck
  11. I'm left handed, but I fight just as comfortable fighting off either side.
  12. Nope its all good. I'm definitely interesting, I enjoy reading into other Martial Arts, as do many of the people here. Thanks for the links!
  13. Hey its ok Ad, remember I did make that post months ago before there was any of this trouble. Hell, me and my girlfriend of 11 and a half months broke up a month ago so I'm not one to comment. No hard feelings mate. Sai - So so true. And yes, seperating yourself from your emotions to really figure out whats going on in a clear-headed and unbiased way is definitely a difficult thing.
  14. Hi, I was just wondering out of the sake of curiosity what everybody's current Sitting Heart rates are, and also if they've kept a record what it has been in the past? This is mine: 22/10/01 Heart Rate (Sitting, before deep breathing): 69BPM 22/3/02 Heart Rate (Sitting, before deep breathing): 60BPM 5/4/02 Heart Rate (Sitting, before deep breathing): 58BPM I'm aiming to get down to 50BPM by the end of this year. How about you guys? Sitting down, make sure your heart is settled and at an even pace, but no deep breathing beforehand to slow it down, okay?
  15. Its also sensing they are going to attack, so making the first strike to take them back, Going for the one on one side is good since it distances both you and him from the others. Quickly take him out then move on. Well, thats what he did anyway, heh.
  16. lol yes, I've been there before.
  17. Hey Ad, chill. I ment nothing like that.
  18. Hey, Movie: Enter The Dragon Show: I dont really watch much TV. Song, hmm at the moment Wish you were here by Incubus, or Happiness for Dogs by Millencolin... Glass is pretty class though. My favourite song seems to change every week.
  19. Yes, I saw that too. Very interesting programme, especiall the Combat Ki. Some very tough training there, what did you think about their claims and training of using "chi" to block such damage and pain from heavy blows?
  20. I'll have some new, hopefully good, pictures of myself to put up next week.
  21. Welcome Thaifoot! Set your goals high and try your best, and I'm sure you'll do great.
  22. Very impressive, Bretty! On the first picture, I can hold my leg about 10 degrees less, for about forty seconds. Then again, I havn't worked on much of this muscle control as much as I could. I'm getting inspired to give it a shot, though.
  23. Welcome XpOiSoN FrRex (Whew, quite the job typing that) I hope you have a pleasent stay here.
  24. lol ad - don't worry, I know about the bracket. The wall isn't too sturdy and we had some trouble tightly fitting the bracket into it (wrong size drillbits etc.) I'll have to put it up with some meticulous planning next time.
  25. If you had replied within a week or two, I would have remembered my point.
