yep tigerstyle, exactly what I recommended. Very effective lower abdominal exercise. Be sure to maintain tension in your abs while moving, and tense them when your knees reach crunch position for a few seconds before moving them back down.

I'd like to start off saying this isn't yet another post asking how to stretch. I was just wondering if anybody knows of any harmful mistakes that people might do while stretching that could cause overstretching, stretched ligaments, or anything which is harmful or inpairing. If so, I think it would be beneficial to everybody to post these things here, so people can see if they are doing harm to themselves. I have a knack for constantly stretching ligaments and causing myself more harm than good when I stretch, but I can't nail anything specific down. So if you would all like to add anything, post it below!

In my opinion, there is no meaning to life. Life is simply something that happens. How we live our lives is also up to us, so decide well.

All dojos should have some Chinup bars.

Do a search for the following exercises: Leg Lift Reverse Crunch Reverse Trunk Twist These are all pretty good at nailing the lower abdominals. Other than that, what everybody else has been saying, lose the fat. Best of luck.

I try to meditate first thing when I wake up and last thing at night. It calms me and helps me get to sleep easier. It also helps me wake up and puts me in a better mood. I do it to clear my mind of thoughts and allows myself to relax from thinking for a few minutes each day.

I didn't feel any pain in my knees either, it was just after I started doing this exercise they started to hurt more than normaly. I also started doing lightly weighted leg extensions though, to try to strengthen the leg muscles to take strain off the knees. I've stopped both of these and instead am doing the slow front/side/back kicks, as well as holding leg up as high as possible until fatigue. Far less pain.

Good flexibility is not only for kicking high, but more making kicking at a medium or low level easier and more fluid. Also people do not only do the MA for real combat, some may enjoy it for other reasons. I doubt anybody here would attempt a high level kick in a real situation anyways. Bretty I don't personally like the ankle weight technique you recommended. My knees got really painful after I started doing it, so I've stopped. Knees are getting better now. Basically don't try that exercise if you have knee problems. Time to do my stretching, bye.

People who think they are "hard". And narrowminded people that are clearly wrong but won't listen. and Pop music.

I have not heard of this atkins, but I'd say all you need to lose weight is the correct eating plan and exercise routine. Don't worry about all this supplements too much!

Long term and Short tern goals?
Jack replied to rabid hamster's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Short Term (By end of this year) 10KG at least more lifting power Heart Rate down to 50BPM Double number of Pushups to failiure I have a Word file set up with all my goals, with tables set up so I can take how I am working towards them each month. My long Term would be to earn my Black Belt in Taekwondo, continue training in this and take up Jiu Jutsu then when I have finished 6th form/College, to move North to study Jeet Kune Do under YODA or one of his associates. (Part of Dan Inosanto lineage, some definite quality training there) -
Sorry - 14 pounds to the stone. The day was pretty uneventful, and now there's the weekend where we will have no contact, so I'm sure this will have blown over by next week.
-
Hey, I'm about 9 stone and I'm guessing hes about a little bit heavier, he's shorter, but really muscled. We're also both 15. I doubt a conflict will happen, but if it does, I'm not going to go easy on him. One year of going to TKD once a week is not good enough. I've been training like a donkey at home though, so I hope it pays off. (If a fight occurs) Let you know how it goes when I get back from school. Tara!

YODA lol yup, I was simply elaborating in unconnected terms. Or something.
