What would you have them do then Aikidoka? Do you enjoy democracy? If so, are you willing to fight for it or would you conform to another religion/way of life without freedom of speech, religion or much else... Are you willing to give up your lway of life and that of your children? Ideally yes, there should be no war or killings, however you are not being realistic - the reality is that we must fight for our freedom in order to preserve it for ourselves and future generations. This is the way it had always been and always will be. Lori

Heyyyyy....I like your name ! Welcome and I look forward to your insight! Lori

I am the last person to advocate war, however bin Ladin cannot be free to harm more people - hell this already IS a war!! Thousands of people have lost their lives already - already more than in Pearl Harbor!! Don't make the mistake and think that if we all just sit back that everything will be fine...these people do not understand democracy and they would shoot and kill us all at the drop of a hat, they despise us that much. We have no choice - we must fight to protect ourselves and our freedom. Canada was also fighting alongside Britain during the war, but that's really of no importance right now - it's time to stick together and we all enjoy democracy, so it's everyone of us that should fight to protect it. I just read on cnn.com a quote from a man who was walking on a road away from the airport that was bombed in Kabul...he said "I was afraid that it was the United States retaliating for the terrorism inflicted - and then I thought who cares? My life isn't worth living anyways". Maybe that can shine some light on how people can learn to hate. This is not any kind of excuse - there is NO excuse for the attacks yesterday - I'm just trying to put into perspective how people living under horrific circumstances can learn to hate so easily others who have it better than they do. We are fortunate enough to live in a democratic society where we enjoy much freedom. The man who I just quoted is a senior who wakes up every day before dawn and walks looking for work... Desperate circumstances breed desperate people, so if there is to be any equality, it has to be on a global level - if that's even possible... I hope this finds you all doing well - I'm personally still shaken from yesterday's events and am constantly thinking about the people who lost their lives. I'm so sorry for their families and I hope they find these *******s and bring them to justice. Lori

Congratulations on your testing! Well done and now just keep up on everything you've learned! Lori

I agree rushman...this should not be taken lightly. If it is proven to be bin Laden, then anyone who is an ally with the States is at risk, as he has said that the States and all of its allies are his enemies. I am not for capital punishment, but I take exception here...this man needs to be taken down!!!!!!!!!! Lori
-
I also heard that Afghanistan is being attacked...by who though?? The States?? I can't find anything on CNN.com or anywhere else... I can't believe this...

One other thing - everyone needs to get out and GIVE BLOOD. There is of course a huge shortage of blood and they will need as much as possible. Here in Canada, if you give blood it's guaranteed to be sent to the States, so please everyone here in North America - do it as soon as possible!!!!!!! Lori

When I woke up this morning, I could hardly believe my ears when I heard the radio. My heart is broken for all of the people who died in the tragedies...it's impossible to put into words quite what I feel, other than shock, disbelief and horror that people can be so evil. I just heard that the Islamic Gihad (forgive the spelling) has taken responsibility and that they had planned this for many years. Our airports in Canada are also shut down however we are accepting incoming flights that were destined for the US. I can't believe this...I'm in shock. I know that alot of members here are from the States and I hope that you and your families are alright. What a tragedy. My heart goes out to all American Citizens... Hey Tommy - thanks for the info. I'm really sorry to hear about your friend...I went on the site, couldn't find anything to link me to the tributes, can you tell me where to look? How did he die, btw? Again - I'm very sorry for your loss... Lori -
Hey Richard! Don't feel bad - you've learned lots from your tournament, that's all! It's the only way you're going to get better and it seems as though you've already got the determination, so I'm sure you'll be kicking a$$ all over the place next time! Lori

Hello fellow kickboxers! I've been reading in the other forums about katas and the names for each one. In my school we don't have any special names for them - I kinda wished we did. Anyways, I'm wondering what you call yours - we just say form 1, form 2 etc... I'd also be interested to know if they are all the same as well... See ya! Lori

I think tae-bo would be fun for a cardio workout, but it's pretty irresponsible for them to misrepresent it so that people have a false sense of their abilities to defend themselves - they don't spar, so they'd probably freak out if they actually got hit - took me awhile to get used to it. Nothing but false advertising if you ask me...

Hey Javier - glad you're back! I know what you mean about vacations being over WAY too soon! Lori

Wow, that's awful BlueDragon. My family has a history of cancer - my mom and one of my aunts had it and it's a very scary thing - hopefully they have caught it in time to get rid of it. My thoughts are with the family and of course Saku himself - he's young, so that could be something in his favor in regards to beating the cancer. Keep us posted in case they don't write about it as much here in Vancouver OK? Lori
