Hi Kicker and welcome! Babysteffee, kicker is right - your foot should be sideways. Your entire body should be in a straight line and you should be flexing from your glutes all the way down to your heel in order to make that straight line. Try to kinda lock your leg into position by turning your hip, thus turning your leg inward. I love the side kick, especially leading cause it's super fast! Lori

Hi Jerry, No, I'm not in the 'business' - there are however a number of people in my school are though. I attend Champions - the link is on the front page of kickboxing.com... There always seems to be some kind of movie being filmed around where I live - just this morning there was a huge movie set I had to navigate around to catch my bus to work - I have thought about maybe doing some extra work, as I have a friend who does it and says it pays quite well - we'll see... . Ken's answer is exactly right - the US got involved and it pissed-off the Palestines. If you want to understand how all of this started, just go to cnn.com or any other news website and read the history. Osama bin Ladin got PO'd at the States way back in the Gulf War. Read up on it and then you'll understand that there is no reasoning with these people - they are radicals. Please you guys, we are not advocating war - I just don't think you all understand that we HAVE TO do this in order to protect ourselves and democracy - this is the reality - nobody wants to go to war and kill! If we don't however, we are in danger of losing our way of life and all that we cherish - these people are already at war with us, so now it's a matter of survival...either strike back or be defeated. Do you realize that Osama has a huge network of terrorists in North America RIGHT NOW that he can call on to take action???? I don't know about all of you, but I'm very afraid - and you should all be too... I thank God that we have the States to stand up and fight - and Canada will be right there beside them in this war against terrorism.

My 5 year old also kickboxes - she's so damned cute in her sparring gear. She's definately her mama's girl . My husband isn't interested at all, even though everyone at the school, including myself has tried!!!! Oh well - it's not for everyone! Lori

Yeah, I agree Ken - but why is it that it's not considered a martial art of its own? We use martial art techniques - we practice katas and kumite in my school - we do alot if not all the same kicks that taekwondo does - and wasn't it martial artists that started kickboxing? Just wondering... Lori

A new guy in town walks into a bar and reads a sign that hangs over the bar... FREE BEER! FREE BEER FOR THE PERSON WHO CAN PASS THE TEST! So the guy asks the bartender what the test is. The Bartender replies "Well, first you have to drink that whole gallon of pepper tequila, the WHOLE thing at once and you can't make a face while doing it. Second, there's a 'gator out back with a sore tooth...you have to remove it with your bare hands. Third, there's a woman up-stairs who's never had an orgasm. You gotta make things right for her." The guy says, "Well, as much as I would love free beer, I won't do it. You have to be nuts to drink a gallon of pepper tequila and then get crazier from there. Well, as time goes on and the man drinks a few, he asks, "Wherez zat teeqeelah?" He grabs the gallon of tequilla with both hands, and downs it with a big slurp and tears streaming down his face. Next, he staggers out back and soon all the people inside hear the most frightening roaring and thumping, then silence. The man staggers back into the bar, his shirt ripped and big scratches all over his body. "Now" he says "Where's that woman with the sore tooth?" Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone, The Police just came into our offices to check the roof (we're on the top floor), because we're located right across the street from the US Embassy here in Vancouver, Canada. It's really scary when you think about it. I wanted to go home on the day of the bombings because of our location... Anyways - here in Vancouver at 4 o'clock PT, we will ALL be going outside and lighting a candle and observing one minute of silence to remember all of the people who lost their lives on that tragic day and the days to follow... OK - just found out that now they're installing surveillance equipment here... Damn these terrorists - I'm feeling a bit insecure now, although I know it's probably for preventive purposes, it still scares me. Lori

Yeah, I hate(d) them too, until I developed stronger back muscles and abs - now I can do really good pushups (NO - NOT girlie pushups!). I owe that to my instructor Sandie cause she's always making us do them!! She just about killed me in class last nite too!!!!! AAAAAAAhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Lori
