  1. Not trying to start an arguement - it's just simply my opinion...I just think that a pilot already has his hands full with his job at hand - besides, there's more to it than just learning to shoot a gun. Lori
  2. Best of luck to you Prodigy-Child - I'm sure you'll do great! Lori
  3. OK, taezee - I tried to translate and it told me something about a horseradish tree?????? Whatever...I don't care... It still reads so nice!! Are you gonna translate it for me? _________________ If you think something small cannot make a difference - try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room. -Unknown- [ This Message was edited by: Kickbutt on 2001-10-03 19:41 ]

  5. Hehe...  Kisses for everyone!!!!! Lori
  6. *KICKBUTT'S LEGS START TO GIVE WAY AND SHE COLLAPSES ONTO THE FLOOR IN FULL SWOON* Oh my, now you've made me blush!!!
  7. Oh my...I remember taking a trip to the Canary Islands and let me just say that aside from the best sangria I've ever had (and the most!!), the best thing about it was the language!!! *SWOON* Spanish is such a beautiful and sexy language!!!! (the men are pretty awesome too) More, more!!! Lori
  8. Hi and welcome, I'm a kickboxer and since we do alot of sparring, I would definately recommend either that or Muay Thai. You will also need to learn some ground/grappling techniques such as jiu-jitsu, so you know what to do when you're on the ground. Maybe Iron Arahat or Thaiboxerken could specify in greater detail.... Lori
  9. Hmmm...I don't think I'd want music for any part of my martial arts training - except for the boxercise classes because part of what I'm learning in class, especially right now, as I'm testing for blue belt, is determination and perseverence - essentially I'm pushing myself to the next level, and while it definately would be nice to do it to music, I think it would be a hinderance in the end, as I wouldn't want to depend on it to motivate me - I need to do that myself! Lori
  10. AAAAWWWWW!! Poor Jack! Yeah, I get pretty dizzy from them too! Two pieces of advice for ya: 1. Do as KickChick says and focus on one point then snap your head around to that point again, then kick! 2. Keep your head up - DO NOT look down, as it will make you very dizzy!! The only way I learned it was to just do it over and over again - my sensei would always tell me "NO FEAR LORI!!!", so that I would do them fast and with no fear, of course - it worked!!! NO FEAR JACK!!! Lori
  11. Hey Javier...how you doing? Things OK with you and your family and friends?? Lori
  12. Don't know...don't care!!
  13. He's the mayor of New York - and he's technically not allowed to run for another term, as there are limits as to how long you can stay in office (like the Presidential Office as well). Yes, there will be another election, however I also believe now is not the time. Giuliani should stay in office, for the time being anyways - he has in fact done an amazing job as mayor - before and after the events of Sept. 11th and I think the people of New York would like that as well, as he has been like a rock throughout this ordeal.
  14. Hehe...just u wait!!! Hey - since you hate the rainy weather in England, I know this GREAT Aussie bloke... . Lori
  15. Wow Nat - you're a beautiful girl! Better watch out for the guys now!!!!! Lori
  16. Part of the training my daughter receives focuses on respect for her instructors and others and to NEVER use what she learns to harm anyone, except in self defence - it's in the creed we recite before every class. If that is instilled properly, then I do not believe there is a problem as far as kids using what they learn on other kids. As far as a 3 yr. old starting - I personally would have waited to start my daughter until she was 5 years old (her age now), as kids that age have a difficult time focusing and tend to have a very short attention span. I've assisted in a couple of the childrens classes where there is a 3 year old and found that it was very difficult to hold her attention and it subsequenty took my time away from the rest of the class. Lori
  17. I have to say that I admire how candid you all have been in your answers - no pretense, just honesty. I continue my martial arts training for these reasons: -discipline -challenging -fitness -self-defense -confidence -I've made good friends -I LOVE IT!! -I want to set a good example for my daughter (5), who also trains, to show her that she should be the best that she can be!! Lori
  18. I understand that pilots want the right to carry firearms on planes, however I don't believe they should. They're pilots, not police men - you can't be both.
  19. What did he think he could do anyways??? Sit down and have a nice little 'chat' with the Taliban over tea and convince them to turn over Osama? Yeah right... It's a waste of time. Lori
  20. Yeah, train in kickboxing and train hard with lots of drills to build up strength and power, but as Prodigy-Child says, once you're on the ground, your kicks and punches are useless. You need to learn some grappling - I plan on doing that next - preferably jiu-jitsu. Lori
  21. Yes - WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! Lori
  22. It cuts quite a bit into my social life...I would actually train more if possible...I'm always getting in sh*t for doing too much - but unless you train in Martial Arts, I'm sorry you just don't understand! I LOVE it! It is however, important not to focus too much on one thing - you need balance in your life, such as hangin' with your friends and family. If you're training to go pro, well that's a different story. Lori
  23. Yeah, I understand MuayTB1. I think one of the reasons the States hasn't attacked right away is to give Afghans the opportunity to flee to Pakistan. The States will of course not intentionally target civillians, however there will inevitably be civilian casualties. One thing that is very important to do after all of this is over, is for the United Nations to go in and help REBUILD this war ravaged country, physically, economically and politically - create a democratic society and to elevate its citizens to a level of freedom, equality and prosperity. I think this would also help to eliminate terrorism, as I doubt that anyone would be so interested in sacrificing their life if it was one worth living. Lori
  24. I am in complete agreeance with you BlueDragon, we are a DAMNED sexy bunch aren't we????? Hehe...
