  8. The best concert it's to say I've seen about 40 plus bands live. But I'd have to say Disturbed is the best live preformance I've seen so far. They hit their marks everytime.
  9. Good luck. After you look back it may not be as brutal as you may imagine. Good Luck
  10. Kesa gatame (scarf hold) is really a hold down or a pin controlling the head and arm. It is often mistaken for Kata gatame (shoulder hold/ckoke). Kata gatame is the actual head and arm choke that has been mislabled as the scarf hold. The kesa gatame you are actually have wrist controll and are setting on your hip, controlling your opponents arm across your hips. Kata gatame you'll have you opponents arm between your shoulder and their head. You will be low on a knee.
  11. Man that's wild. I'll often joked about this during sparring sessions. I guess it really can happen.LOL
  12. Thanks for keeping us unformed on this one Patrick.
  13. You'd never see a basket ball program getting cut even if it were one of the last programsleft. I hate to hear any school nomatter what level loosing it's wrestling program.

  16. MAtt Hamillof the UFC is subject of an upcoming movie. The movie will be about Hamill's early life and wrestling career and dealing with being adeaf athelete. I think this should be a good watch even though it's going tobe low budget. It will make us realize what Hamill has to go through to get where he is. Iwill point you all to https://www.mmajunkie.com for more info.
  17. Anything related to martial arts history. MMA Dirty Jobs, Supernatural, Mythbusters, Heroes, pretty much anything paranormal. I'll watch pretty much what ever sounds good at the time.
  18. Sherk if he can survive the early rounds he may be able to put Penn away or grind out a decision. Silvia is hungry he's lost his last 3. And he trains with Randy. Gouveia has fought some tough guys recently. And finished allbut one fight by ko or sub. Machida is a very unorthidox fighter and Tito has never changed his style. Silva he's undefeated and he hold a tko over Houston Alexander.
  19. Welcome to the boards.
  20. That's great to hear. That is a life time of dedicationto themartial arts. Congratulations to your instructor.
  21. He had an attitude in the ring but Ibelieve we all do. Yeah he was a pretty cool guy after we talked awhile. He even asked what I thought about the bad calls and I told him my opinion. A lot of school are out for the trophey count and don't care what it take to get it. I would want to judge students from my dojo fairly and make them earn their spot.
  22. I'm loaded I carry my wallet, cell, usually 2 knives, and I for some reason always need to have an ink pen.
  23. I'm a podcast junkie. I listen to several mma podcasts and two traditional. MMA podcasts include: TAGG, Lights Out, Savage Dog Show, Beat Down and MMA Weekly Soundoff. Traditional: Karate Kast Network, and Martial Arts Masters of Texas. Karate Kast is old but they have almost 100 episodes and they cover a variety of topics and are very open minded. And the second one I mentioned is hosted by one of the guys by the for mentioned show. I think this on has only had 3 or so episodes put up on itunes. There are loads of podcasts on itunes and the best part is they are all FREE!!
  24. The lasttourney I competed in I new going intomy seconod fight I was in trouble when I noticed all three judges were from the same school as the guy Iwas about to fight. And the center judge called the guy by name before the fight started. It was a long fight he out scored me at first with some bad calls on the center judge calling very clearly blocked attacks as points. I surprisingly made up the gap and won in over time. I actually talked to the guy after the fight and he was disappointed in his buddies from his dojo because of them trying to get him a win.
