At our dojo we have a a junior black belt. They use a solid black as a normal shodan does. But the catch is they have diffrent requirements than the adults. Also in the catch to recieve full adult black belt status they have to complete the requirements of the adult black belt test including teching time and additional kata. At sixteen they are then allowed test for full shodan rank. Basically it sucks for them because they basicaly have to take two black belt tests.

My brother asked me to come work out with him and a few of his friends a couple times. After doing it a few times I was addicted. And the addiction is worse now so much so I can't stand to miss.

2008 is nearing it's end but my joourney hasn't even started. I have become more comfortable with having students looking toward me as an assistant instructor. I learned to deal with the responcablities as a shodan. On the down side we had to close the door at the dojo we all so dearly love and I earn all of my rank from white to black in. But we got another place to train even though it's much smaller. But that too have an up side of we still have a place to train.

You have trained hard and while be fine. It's you nerves getting to you. I went throught the samething before my brown belt promotion. I even considered quiting to avoid failure. But in the the end I changed my mind set to nothing can stop me but me. You'll do fine trust in you technique.

Congrats on you accomplishment. Now the real learning begins.

I see MMA as an art that requires strategy. It it and art on the leave you have to be good in some many diffrent individual arts kick boxing, grappling ect. Aslo you have to be able to strategize for diffrent opponents because everyone has diffrent strengths and weaknesses. So it's a bit of both.

I love you attitude in this situation. Mental preperation is the toughest thing to do for a big promotion. I once failed a test early in my karate carreer and it helped me out tremendously. Keep pushing forward you'll get what you what you work for.
