On the subject of teaching helping your own skills. I find this has been one thing that helped me in the past couple of years of my training. I feel I'm very adapt at learn new technique. But I've helped my Sensei teach kids, private students and adults alike. And I usually see some small hidden something somewhere within what's being taught. Like one night last week I was working with a fellow black belt most of the class was a discussion revoling around our most basic kata and and bunki within in that kata. We compared our own prespective and the traditional. I find classes like this very good finding out how others see and interprit the same pattern of movements that I am reveiwing. I think that no matter how long I train. There will be something new to find. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I find something that I see as new. I'll share it with on of the older black belts in the dojo and they here me out and adknowledge my findings then show me their finds and drive me deeper in just blowing me away. Since earning my shodan I just seem to notice little things within technique. The amount of matterial slows but not the learning. I am fortunate to have a very knowledgeable Sensei and an equally knowledgeable nidan I can train with and turn to in the times I need them.

Try some gojo the original cream or goop. Some of the hand cleaners can work on clothing as well. Don't get anything with pumince in it. I know goop will take grease stains out of clothes I had to do this from time to time when I was working on cars for a living.

Vey nice piece. I wanted once achiving shodan was go back and break down the material down step by step and polish it if you will to met my own exspectaions. Also taking a diffrent look at the techniques I've trained for the last few years. And dabbling in this it has been fun. Sometimes not learning new stuff does get frustrating but I feel I should be finding the deep technique now. I also like comparing notes and picking the brains of those that hae trained longer than myself and thus my learning never stops or at least I get another point of view.

A fighter's death
pittbullJudoka replied to ShoriKid's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
I'm thinking this is also mentioned in this months issue of Black Belt Magizine. Would like to know the details of the fight to see if poor reffing lead to the injuries or it is an actual case of Libardi hit him that hard or that much. Still a great tragidey for the family. -
Never Back Down
pittbullJudoka replied to white owl's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
I finally got the chance to go see this one. It was alright but it kind of seemed like Fast and the furious meets the karate kid. The only down fall I had with this one is the way non mma fans will view the fights. Also did anyone else notice all the plugs for diffrent martial art products? But all in all it was alright. I just don't want to revile too much for those readers who want to go see it. -
Welcome enjoy your stay here.

You have the right idea about competing. You certainly came out the winner if you learned something. But congrats on your effort. -
Big Tim Sylvia leaves the UFC

He's still wanting to fight mma as far as I've read. He figures he only has somewhere between 2 and 4 years left in the sport and wants to fight as much as possible. His new home has and open end stipulation in their contracts which allows their fighters to fight in an promotion they want. -

M-1 has disolved. I think they sunk all their assets into their first and only show and had major problems getting the card together. -
Sounds like PS1 covered it pretty well. But the most important is stay relaxed and have fun. This should be about gaining experiance with someone around the same skill level as yourself outside your dojo. Remember even if you loose a match talk to the guy he may tell you how he caught you. Most of the guys I've lost to are very open and pretty cool once you talk to them after the fight. If nothing else you may find a friend that you can look for the next time you go to a competion. And you may run into someone close enough to were you live to pick up an extra training partner. About the only thing I can add to PS1's advice is DO NOT eat anything you haven't tried before next week just in case remember this especially from next Thursday on.

Kicking heads and making friends
pittbullJudoka replied to ShoriKid's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
There's definately a special bond there. I think it's because you seen what the person it made of inside and out not just phyically. I know myself I don't act as I should outside the dojo but I by no means go out to start fights but I can't let people run over myself or certain others. I know few people who can go out and pound on each other and go have a drink together and laugh about what they just did to each other. I also think that the reason we can open with these people is because of the bond built in the dojo. And they can understand were you come from no matter if they're a doctor and you work in retail. There's something inside us as martail artist that naturally makes us bond closer than the average co-worker type friendship. All I can say is we are diffrent breed of people and that's cool with me. -
I know I'm probably the last person to read the news that Cung Le beat Frank Shamrock last night. It sounded like a good fight according to the write up I read. Hopefully now all the nay sayers see Le is for real. He stopped Shamrocks take down attempts. And he proved that his "fancy Kick" will work against a game opponent such as Shamrock. We should wish Frank a speedy recovery since they think his arm is broken from one of Le's kicks. After posting this I checked another site for news and appently Shamrock will be facing surgery to repair the damage to the broken arm and displaced wrist.

Anderson says that that fight is a dream of his to fight Jones. Also with the mention of the heavier gloves Anderson would train properly for this he's an intelligent athilete. He wouldn't half way train for a fight. I mean no direspect to Jones but I think Anderson could surprise alot of people in this one but again Jones has the advantage in a boxing only match. It could go eigther way. Likke I said I'd pay to see this one.
