MMA vs. Reality
ZR440 replied to aznkarateboi's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
Perhaps we all need to agree that we disagree on the rockets and religion/history aspect of the conversation. It's going nowhere. -
I almost did that working on my Tubo Regal yesterday. Luckily I came outa that day with just a few knuckle busters.

Ah. They must have had reruns on for quite a while. I remember when it first came out. Well, barely.
-
Oh yeah, Thundercats. You must be in your 30's also.

Don't need an internal clock. The neighbor's rooster seems to wake me up before the clock radio turns on. Might be having a chicken dinner sometime soon.

The breathing philosophy in KSW teaches to breath from the belly. Upper chest shouldn't even move. Anyone else been told that?

Seen one of those Lotus Elise cars last weekend at a car show here in the States. Nicely designed. I think a person over here would have to have that shipped by boat, although there my be a dealer somewhere in the US. I recently bought a Buick Grand National to play with. Needs a little work, but it should run a high 12 second 1/4 mile by the time I'm done with it.

Anything with Bugs, Wiley E Coyote, Foghorn Leghorn, Sylvester, or Pepe Lepew is superior. Ren and Stimpy is also cool.

Yes, the earlier versions of the Patriot were not very good. There's a problem with trying to hit a missle with a missle. If it doesn't make contact, it has to come down somewhere.

I think I'm going to go beat my head up against a brick wall.

I can't help to wonder where you get your information. For one, it's common knowledge that chemical weapons were used in Iraq in open air environment. I saw the bodies laying on the sides of the roads all curled up in the fetal position. No matter if the means to deliver was in a chamber or out in the open it's still wrong, my misguided friend. Secondly, N Korea would like to be part of China? Was this announced yesterday? I didn't read the newspaper, so maybe I missed something. Thirdly, it is debateable on the effectiveness of Patriot missles, but I highly doubt half land on friendly targets. Targets that are friendly are not targets to begin with anyway. Please provide data to support your claim. Fourth, Iraq is not kicking our butt. Sure, we are losing soldiers almost every day. That's what military conflicts are about. Killing. If you don't like it, don't follow it. And it seems you aren't following it because we are the authority in the country right now. If we wanted to open up on everything that moves we could. Lastly, you should be thankful that there is a country that has the balls to do something instead of sitting on their * hoping terrorism will just go away. And I can tell how you are a global conflict expert in the way you support all of your claims. Tell KofiAnnan I said hello next time you see him.

I could be wrong, but I think you'll be jailed and sued for performing what you indicate above.

Laws vary state to state, but if she presses charges, you might be hosed. If she pusues it, get a lawyer quick.

board breaking
ZR440 replied to Shotokan_Fighter's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
OK guys. Let's just face the facts that MT doesn't like katas. It's no big deal. -
Wood isn't always easier to break. Sometimes it takes a little more force to start the fracture of the material as opposed to rebreakables, which become two pieces because you are overcoming the friction that hold the pressed fit together. For wood, it really depends on the grain structure and moisture content. I think rebreakables are fine during practice, but there's nothing like splitting a square foot of pine during a test!

Ahh, Lord of the Rings land. Nice place.

A one track mind... -
Yes, as long as he stays away from the beer and pizza every night. Diet is just as important as the exercise.

Hopefully just a bruised rib.

The military only has a certain amount of time to teach you how to take care of yourself.

Introduction to Kuk Sool Won
ZR440 replied to SBN Doug's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Rats! You just reminded me that I probably missed Kuk Sa Nim's normal visit to Michigan. Good description, KSN Doug. -
Yeah, getting towards the Ohio River. I really hate traveling across that turnpike at the speed limits they have posted. At least the terrain changes a bit as you shoot down 77.

Either that or she just had some basic manners. Maybe she thought I was smokin hot and was flirting. Nah, she was probably confused.
