  1. Well, I just got done eating some Taco Bell. Hey, we're getting a little off topic here.
  2. I just had a terrible vision. Thanks.
  3. There is not a #10? What gives?
  4. Is that Ben Gay or Icy Hot that I smell in this thread?
  5. Correct. I should have added "from" joint sprain. The stretched ligament allows the rib to move out of it's normal position. I experienced it at the start of year from falling techniques. Until the ligaments heal the rib will try to sneak back out of position if you bend or twist the wrong way. They don't heal very fast because you can't immobilize the joint. I still have mine adjusted about once a month. It sucks. Hopefully Goedikey won't have this problem, but if he/she has insurance it's worth having it checked out.
  6. Welcome. Does this mean we get free PC support now?
  7. I thought all they did was steal Lucky Charms.
  8. Gun cleaning kits have good cleaners and oils for carbon steel. And they're cheap.
  9. I had about three years of KSW. KSN Doug has many years into it. He's the one to talk to about specific differences and similarities, but I do know Hapkido and KSW have many of the same techniques and strikes. I think KSW has more complex forms. There are some really good instructors down there in Texas if you ever wanted to check out a class. The belt system is: White Yellow Blue Red Brown Brown-Black Black
  10. On the contrary, if the rib has been subluxated (joint sprained), you want to have it adjusted as soon as possible. Think of it as setting it back in place before the scar tissue forms and prevents it from realigning. If you were to dislocate your finger, you have it popped back into place, right? Same principle applies here for the ribs, only a few visits to the chiropractor will be neccessary. But, it's worth it. However, it sounds like the problem might not be any more than simple bruising. It still wouldn't hurt (haha, get it?) to go see a sports doctor. Note: Rib breaks don't always show up on an X-ray image.
  11. Yeah. And I bet he doesn't go near his instructor for a while.
  12. Even it it's subluxation of the rib (minor sprain/dislocation), you'll feel it for quite a few weeks. Don't take another shot to the ribs for a while. Ice it down and take anti inflammatory med. A visit to the chiropractor can help manipulate the rib back in place and the sooner the better. I still feel my rib sprain after 8 months if I twist the wrong way. If you have bruising that makes you feel almost sick go see a doctor.
  13. Where is/was the testing done at, Detroit?
  14. Was almost too good to be true.
  15. And then there are people like Sensei Gideon from an interview in the Articles section of this site who emphasize knowledge over belt color. If only more people would accept that philosophy....
  16. Who knows? Maybe he's good. Maybe that's all he does. Maybe honorary degrees.
  17. Wildly isn't very accurate. Make the first couple hits count in case they start ducking out and kick your knee apart or catch a punch and turn your arm into a slinky.
  18. I like the deflect, step in to the side, and attack method better.
  19. If the wood grain is // to your foot (imagine a line from your heel to your toes) then it's with the grain. If the imaginary line thru your foot is perpendicular to the wood grain, then you're going against it.
  20. Yes. We encourage posts that contribute to the topic in a positive meaningful way. Thanks
  21. Most of the exercises/stretching you do in MA will help out your reaction times and energy bursts in other sports. Keep doing what you're doing.
  22. Good job. Joong Guep isn't exactly my favorite. That 270 jump spin gets me almost every time. I guess it's the launch that I have problems with. Anyways, no, I didn't go to the tourney, but have seen Master's Expos before. I suppose Master Harmon was there. How about Simms?
  23. They might represent hand to hand fighting in a controlled space, but not what always will be encountered on the street. Even one of my best friends who is a chief warrant officer doesn't tell me what he does some training missions, so anyone who says they know for sure what the military does without experiencing it can only guess.
