  1. heh, i'm an 8, a big shot. aside from the fact that i'm often thrown into a problem solving role (note: thrown in, i don't take charge ), last night alone i couldn't decide what i wanted to make for dinner, pizza or spaghetti. by 10:30 i still hadn't decided and just went to bed decisive? i think not
  2. "ah, sleep, those little slices of death. how i loathe them" - Edgar Allen Poe
  3. tee hee, i'll be first in line! irish pride, baby!
  4. as funny as that was, you know, we don't ALL wanna lay waiste to the rest of the world some of us wanna leave the rest of it alone.
  5. actually, Wisconsin is in America. in the midwest, near canada. though i didn't see any "foul english abreviations" that i've never seen an american use. feh
  6. "surely that's why Arnie has just been voted it because people believed he saved the world in T2? " you know, i really wouldn't doubt it...
  7. oh, and make sure you have a good pair of shoes. note:good, not necisarrily expensive. if you're running in your street shoes, you've already pounded the arch support out of them, and that will kill your shins. running shoes are only good for about 400 running miles (about one season). at that point, you can use 'em for street shoes and get a new pair.
  8. oh, the woman in black reminded me, you should probably consult with a runner for proper running form, as that in its self can be a hinderance. though i don't know that directly it would give you shin splints, it can cause other problems later, and really affects how long/far/fast you can run.
  9. "Braveheart rocks but the film is not historically accurate" A History of the Modern World by R.R. Palmer and Joel Colton will tell you otherwise. and i'm not so sure i would put classify the aliens movies as thought provoking, as much as i enjoyed them. i'll give you T2, though. it's stretching it, but i'll give it to you.
  10. ach, well that would do it. though history is always a good thing to know
  11. a fairly interesting thing to note is that brave heart was fairly historically accurate. although the "get married, but wife killed by the brits" thing is questionable, there are documents that state the accuracy of the battles. did you know william wallace was 6'7!?! the average european at the time was about 5'0. the guy was huge...
  12. though i must wonder, if you don't care about korean history before 1950, what's so special about it afterwards?
  13. "hehe I'm still playing 3, I've finished it as Rikkimaru, but only half way as Ayame.. damn fine game " ach, looks like we're at about the same point then. i'm in the cemetary as ayame... gah! can't kill any thing! a)suit yourself. though i fail to see your point about not being physically possible to be a ninja unless you were... seems a bit redundant...feh b)yeah, i gathered that, you see, i was joking, it's this thing i do sometimes to...nevermind... "And as far as Ninja's today, when you think about it, what are the SEAL's, Ranger's and MCR besides the modern day adaption of the Ninja." yep, i'm well aware of that. good point.
  14. oh, and i hope you're not just in it for tenchu-style grappling hook abilities, because they're virtually non-existant. not only can you stick the bloody thing on to virtually any surface, but you just kind of zip up along with. dosen't happen, sorry however, in tenchu 2, you can throw it at enemies above you and pull them down to your level, which is handy if you can't see their timing and you wanna quickly jump out of the way for a stealth kill. haven't actually tried it in 3, now that i think of it...
  15. "and last time i heard there wenrt a whole lot of Ninja's in korea " AHA! clearly someone dosen't know their korean history. korea did indeed have a ninja equivilant called the sulsa. granted, it dosen't sound quite as cool as ninja, but it took place around the silla era and they were more or less the same thing. as is my understanding of course. that said, from a lot of what i've read, ninjas aren't all they're made out to be. and it makes sense. it may just be due to the affects all of the pollution has made on the air, but quite frankly, a full black suit does not blend in with anything especially well, even at night. a lot of sources i've read state that a more likely kill was someone would dress up in the clothing of the enemy, sneak into an enemy territory that way, and make the kill, and attempt the escape that way. they were not necessarly even as skilled as they're made out to be, on the contrary, supposedly they weren't even very good sword fighters, and in the off chance they'd defeat a samurai, they would steal their sword and leave theirs behind. i could be getting my facts mixed, and i'm not even sure i buy it all myself, but that could just be because i don't want to; as you said, ninjas are super cool but it seems more logical. could be wrong, though.
  16. i've got two words for you: video games they've worked wonders for me other than that, grip training exercises perhaps help
  17. oh, king of fighters, if you enjoyed to kill a mocking bird for it's anti-racism messages, you may also want to consider Black Like Me by john howard griffin, Black Boy by richard wright, and a book title that i'm not even gonna try to get past the forum sensors, lets just say it's the n-word, by dick gregory with robert lipsyte. If you liked it for the court sequences, Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee is good, and i might suggest anything by john grisham.
  18. i completely disagree. if i were you, i'd stay off the tracks. in fact, if i were me i'd stay off of tracks, which is why i do, except for in track meets. and even in track season, i run on the grass. run in forests, on hills, on the grass. it's not only more scenic, but the uneven ground works different muscle groups in your legs. you should only run as much as you're able. if the pain is unbearable, stop, ice them down, try again tommorow. you may also consider icing them down before you run too, but i'm not sure on that. either way, they will go away, it's just a newbie thing. after you get used to running long distances, you'll be going 90 minutes without feeling a thing will, you'll be winded, sweaty, and uncomfortable, and probably a bit sore, but you know what i mean
  19. drunken monkey, everyone i know who's read that book has turned into a vegetarian and boycotted most fast food restaurants all together. let me know if you do too. the uniformal response i'm getting from everyone is intriguing me...
  20. it might just be because i'm sleep deprived and pumped full of soda, but that seems absolutely hilarious!
  21. i see where you're coming from fireka, but i personally think you're seeing things that aren't there. though i got to thinking at work today, who would win in a fight between uma thurman :pony: and keanu reeves ? hmmm...
  22. if it is shin splints, best thing to do is ice it after you run. heck, you can ice it after you run no matter what the problem is, really, it's sure to at least help a little. but yeah, it sounds like shin splints to me.
  23. nah, i'm with fireka on this one. i think tenchu is better than metal gear solid. syphon filter is also very cool, but we've already talked about that which tenchu do you have? i'm still working on 3 as ayame... gah, so hard!
  24. though i admire all most all movies, right down to the mystery science theater class ones, for the amount of work and effort put into them, it is still possible to sit down and just pure and simple enjoy it. i could sit down and stare at a bag of cat food, and ponder all of the love, care, effort, and plain work that went into it, or i could just give it to my cat and let her enjoy it. personally, i prefer the latter though i enjoyed kill bill, and definitely appreciate the amount of effort, time, work, research, emotion, etc. put into it, i certainly enjoyed the movie as a whole more than the "animal instinct" meaning behind it. i see it as more of an homage, personally.
  25. that's the ticket! yeah, that was great fun for me for awhile, but it just wasn't for me. it was only entertaining for so long but it was great fun while it lasted
