  1. the difference being that i enjoyed kill bill, and i didn't much care for crouching tiger, hidden dragond
  2. though tekken tag was easily my least favorite, i really enjoyed tekken 4. the stupid characters were kept to a minimum, the character endings were often cool (kuma's rocks!) and it was just an all around fun game! though i question why heichachi was in the game... he's 75! he should barely be able to walk, let alone do all of that stuff! and why did they put him in a sumo out fit? why? still, all that aside, it's still one of my favorite fighters. tekken 2 remains my favorite
  3. wait... you guys all sweep your yard? suddenly my lawn care seems subpar... my worst was i was watching a movie with my girlfriend. we were sitting there, and i thought "y'know... if i shifted my position just a little... i coul get her to tap out" (she was a martial artist too). before she knew it she was on the floor in two different join locks! a full on sparring match came afterwords heh heh... i suppose she's my ex girlfriend now oh, and i do the jeans thing too, and in addition with that i do that with shoes
  4. i live in WI, right outside of madison. y'know, if you're absolutely desperate for a training partner
  5. ach; thank you
  6. well, i've been a tekken fan for a long long time. i've played them all and enjoyed them quite a bit. they talk a lot about corruption and such, but i don't think they ever explained how they got to be so unbelievably powerful (why do they have access to these modern science labs? helicopters? entire islands? AN ARMY!?!). it's best to just smile and nod
  7. i forget what it's called, but track 4 on the matrix reloaded soundtrack is a good one. i also like "battle without honror or humility" off of the kill bill soundtrack, but it's not very fast paced. i don't have the kill bill soundtrack yet (payday's this friday ) but on the preview that was a really neat song that seemed to consist mostly of druming and hand claps. i'm not sure if it's on the soundtrack or not, but if it is, it could be worth a listen. just stay away from all things mortal kombat
  8. yawara stick? is that like a kali stick or is that something completely different?
  9. hm... am i the only one who would say love? tee hee, my goal in life has always been to get married, have children, and start a small family hmmm... perhaps when i hear love i hear "soulmate" and not another "chick"? ah well...
  10. well that would do away with over due fines. another book i just finished that i enjoyed was crime and punishment. the portion where he actually carries out the murder is as good a writing as i've ever read. very intense
  11. personally, i thought the first 40 minutes or so were very good, i was very pleased. i think at that point i said "hey, i guess the critics are wrong, i'm liking this!". then the next hour or so was pretty dull; the whole mech thing just isn't for me. big sweaty men screaming for quite some time. that final fight (no, these aren't spoilers, they're in the commercials) started out cool, but they some how managed to botch it horribly i was really expecting a lot more. i was really hoping that reloaded was just a "bridge" movie and that revolutions would not only be super good, but bring reloaded up a few notches and tie everything together. oh, and someone might consider this a spoiler, but, for all of the bravado the twins were given, i was a bit annoyed by the fact that they didn't even show up in this one.
  12. "One of my memory sticks which is slightly smaller than a stick of gum has 180+ books on it." huh...... why do i get the feeling my job as a librarian will be obsolete fairly soon?
  13. i'll just imagine a really tiny electronic library, because i have no idea what any of that is
  14. does it? i never thought to check. one of the friends i saw it with thought it was terrible and wanted out of the theater
  15. the international movie data base assures us that david carradine is indeed bill. he was pulling your leg
  16. nope, that's not in the library system either. i'll keep looking around, though
  17. no, i think i can assure you from various things i've read that bill is indeed david carradine
  18. "Monkeygirl I have almost all of the Anne Mac Caffrey books in prc format to read on my pda using mobipocket." ...oh wow... ...i have no idea what you just said....
  19. but one would point out that, at least in america, civilians where military clothing all the time. why? i have no idea, i think it's fairly stupid. i just don't understand the need to by camoflage pants. for what? i just find it ironic that people are willing to pay around $60 for these robes that, as you said, people where to shed their need of material possesions. they do look neat, though still, i'd never buy one
  20. martialartsmart.com has them
  21. oh really!?! monkeygirl!?! little miss. "what?-you're-having-trouble-in-tenchu-3?-but-i got-through-5-levels-in-one-day-and-only-quit-because-i had-to-leave?"!?! well then i'll point out that last night i finished this game WITHIN AN HOUR! i'm not sure how long exactly, i think we're in the 30 minute area. and yes, the full game, not on easy mode! i kid of course i admittedly had quite a bit of trouble with that stupid chicken and the sea food cake. and as a percussionist, i'd have to break both of my wrists in shame if i didn't have the rythym skill to go through it. a helpful hint: it helps if you subdivide the music. i haven't played it for the PS2 yet though, i was gonna rent it over the weekend
  22. hey, if you're ever 'round madison, WI, just check out our dojang, we'll show you how to do it
  23. i can't for the life of me find a copy of meals on wheels! i've looked at the library and at the local videostores, but i'm not seeing it! i have one more to check before i conclude that no one in Dane County carries it. is it a rare movie or is WI just waybehind in our kung fu movie library?
  24. they both work, but mine is prettier
  25. it's useful for somple standing wrist locks
