Thanks. My grading tomorrow is doing point sparring. I see my opponents doing a lot of front kicks. I think it is because I sometimes accidently put my guard down when I kick? I'll do the front kicks and punches.

Yeah. I still think respect has to be earned regardless of rank. My instructor demands respect. Every class he says "If one does not respect me they will do 100 pushups." When people do respect him, he doesn't really show respect back. Still, the students are suprisingly very respectful towards each other though.

The instructor would notice; he prefers that you don't "modify" your belt in any way. I'll wait for a size 2 on the promotion (hopefully)

That's cool. I've been taught things by people much younger than me. I find it cool how a 12 year old wasn't playing around and that he was taking it seriously.

Oh, I meant purchasing my new rank belt online a size smaller (assuming I get size 3 again.)

My current belt is far too long. It goes down past my knees and when I kick the belt always slaps me in the face. I actually wrote down on my test form where it says size, I put a size smaller. I'm really thin so I got a size 2. I currently have a size 3. I have to deal with it until I get my new belt on the promotion class which isn't for 2 and 1/2 weeks. I'm not even sure if my instructor looks at the paper? Maybe they'll still give me a 3 but should I purchase a size 2 belt from online or wait? Or should I deal with getting slapped in the face? (It kinda bothers me) It is too small to wrap around my waist a third time though. It only comes out an inch from my green stripe. I might be able to post a picture of the belt if it helps, but it is a bad picture so yeah... It was taken a few weeks ago.

I'd imagine he wouldn't come back. If any higher belt is caught disrespecting a junior belt, then the senior belt needs to wear a white belt for 2 classes. Then they get their belt back. Respect is taken very seriously in our dojo.

I train because I've always wanted to be a martial artist. I didn't start taking Tang Soo Do until a little over a year ago. The main reason I train though is because of my past experiences with bullies. At the same time I joined my dojo, I transferred school districts. I have to say that joining a martial arts dojo was the best thing I did. I train 5 to 6 days a week at the dojo.

My instructor puts a sign up for everyone to see. It lists the word "Passed" with all the students who passed. There's onenext to it that says "Failed" with the people who did not pass. Somehow I find this method wrong.

I don't think that they'd be able to test for the next rank and pass if they are not trying. They should be able to keep the black belt though if they have successfully tested for the rank.

I would think the person helping out the most was the instructor or at least a black belt.
