because you like i said when people are sparring Full contact as in the same way you would in a fight your techniques gets sloppy...you usually have to slow down occasionally and foucus on it if you want it to be there when you pick it back up. -

because when you spar "full contact" you tend to loose technique..I am a firm beliver ini heavy contact sparring...but i think it's also smart so slow it down every now and then and work on technique. -

so you should never work on technique? I agree hard contact sparring is important but "full" contact all the time isint the answer imo.. -
Top ten TMA
TJS replied to Radok's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
In another thread he said Okinowan karate was superior to MMA so I was simply looking for clafication as to why he would wan to "Mix" martial arts if one was superior to that. Yes Muay thai/boxing or Muay Thai/wing chun would be a hard combo to beat if it was combined with BJJ.....Muay thai/BJJ is proababaly one of the most proven combos out there. -
san shao has beaten muay thai before..but if you look closely at the matches..its usually newbie thai fighters from thailand against the top fighers in china..and the fights are usually in china...another thing ot notice is when the MT fighers win it's always by ko and tha San shou guy by decision or points.

Your right they take out techniqes that work and dont worry about the rest. Doing Katas will never make you a great fighter and thats a fact. MMA fighters are the best in the world...because they take what works and get rid of the rest. you can take the entire art as a whole but you will never be at the same level as someone who takes the useful techniques and trains them down to instict. -

from an unbiased standpoint i have read alot about TSK from others forums as well as this one...many of the comments from students or former student...I have heard mostly negative feedback but I have also heard they have produced some good fighters...so you never know. as far as aikido...just be preapared to wait several years before actually being able to apply it in a real fight.

I think it would definetly beneficial to you. Muay thai..but kickboxing is a big word than can mean alot of things ...MT/kickboxing can be very similar. -
Boxing fusion
TJS replied to GojuMaster's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
krav Maga, Muay Thai, Kyokushin karate would all go great with it IMO. OR something like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling would also work very well BJJ/Boxing and Wrestling/boxing are both extremly effective combos that have done very well. -

have you ever punched someone in the throat? Have you ever tried on a resisting opponet..im guessing no...easier said than done. and while were ont he subject Throat punches were perfectly legal in the first UFC's...for some reason a 170 pound brazilian still won every fight despite these deadly techniques. -
Submission wrestling
TJS replied to Terry Bogard's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
lol personally if someone does not tap out and i have them in a choke then they are going out.. I might be a bit more hessitent to break an arm or shoulder..depends on who it is ans what they did -
that block is difficult against a powerful kick...when you make that block you are supposed to move back aswell. you can also try redirecting it with your elbows so you can keep your hands up...just make sur eyou turn your body with it.

I still havent heard any proof...yes things have changed...rules/advertising UFC has moved away from "NHB" to become "MMA"

TJS replied to PhilM1's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
yes and Attackers always ask if you want to go to the ground? Multiple attackers would never try to take you there? BJJ is not good for multiple attackers but it can pretty much give you the highest chances of succes against a single opponet..despite the size.
