  1. hes his friend ,lets say a non-striking aproach, get up onto your knees than drive your elbows into his inner thighs and push them down, than proceed to pass his guard
  2. i would go to my 4 points its when you pop up to a turtle position and than attemp a takedown from the ground, really only us bjj guys know this technique
  3. BJJ focuses alot alot of time on the ground it wouldn't interfere with your stand-up training
  4. hahahahhahahahha no we call it a side-arm and our rifle is the fm, i didn't know my terminology would be corrected on this forum my apologies , sometimes i get caught up in the moment,
  5. what honour leaf? is this a tma's thing or do i not get it, who cares about honour ,if he doesn't like it and its innefective to him or for him than he shouldn't stay. is it a big deal if he loses his sensai's respect? when is he ever gonna see him again and 2 months, he could be starting a new ma and actually get somewhere in two months
  6. im canadian tooooo! i live in montreal ,where and who do u train with leaf
  7. the ninja did not overturn the samurai but it wasn't uncommon for a ninja to take out a sumurai every now and than
  8. an o-soto-gari would work fine in that type of situation
  9. http://stickgrappler.tripod.com/bjj/fbmulti.html cool article and this site has some good articles on alot of martial arts
  10. where were the ninja when the okinawans needed them?
  11. hahahhahahahaahahh what about what matt thorton uses to describe the tma's "those damn purplemonkeydishwasher kung fu guys "
  12. i would probably say that the samurai were prob better armed and attacked in greater numbers, but i also heard from another source that the karatedo's got killed cause they were poorly trained, anyways good luck finding some real facts
  13. you have got to be kidding right zero , i study bjj and i would still say maphilindo silat or northern shaolin kung fu
  14. theres really no best martial art, only some are better than others
  15. that comment on wating your time when you should also be learning how to use a gun and knife etc... im in the canadian army reserves , so i can draw and shoot a gun and i can handle a knife
  16. PST PST, DR.WORSTCASE MY SIFY/GURU/MASTER WAS AN ORIGINAL DOG BROTHER, HIS NAME IS PHILIP GELINAS AND HIS DOG NAME IS SLED DOG, i know plenty about them, but if your gonna bring up a point like that at least give these ppl an idea of what dog brothers are. its a weapons based art , but they train full contact all the time and for the unarmed they train, but are not limited to muay thai and bjj,
  17. well if i didn't put him to sleep he would of said oh i could of gotten out of it
  18. bjj wouldn't interfere with your km training
  19. leave its not worh your time , i had that same problem , i signed up and was disapointed and i left,
  20. plz stop using all these big words like derogitory and tennant and what the **** is that straw man comment suppose to mean you said royce hasn't been winning, wonder why? im no mcdojo'ist i train in the techniques i find effective and only those, unlike alot of ma's that don't even know why they do half the things they do. i have proof of these mcdojos and i have every right to be angry with them, my cousin is 8 and has just received his black belt in tkd , these traditionalists that believe that they can only use their techniques on the street are not only fooling others but are fooling themselves as well. i have a mgic secret that noone has caught onto, its that people should not be handing out their money so that after 3 years of yelling kiai and kicking the air they can receive a bb.
  21. royce might be oldschool and might not be winning but how about RYAN GRACIE, MARIO SPERRY,VANDERLEI SILVA AND VITOR BELFORT ppl that say they would just rely on eye gouging and such only say that because their ma sucks and they need to use those techniques to replace actual functioning techniques and i studied karate and fought using my karate skills and i got beaten , not because i had poor technique , my technique was fine, but because the techiques i learned were ****. and the arts you have described above(bjj,mt,etc..) might have been traditional ,but they are not now, and they are not afraid of change, to make their techniques work better, unlike in other traditional ma's , where you can't change anything, you have to preserve the tradition of the art. no more excuses must be given out, when i signed up for karate i was told i would be learning street realistic self-defense that was clearly not the case , most of these people are just scamming their students for their money, its like after 3 years they guarantee you a black belt. and don't insult royce, when was the last time you saw a silat guy step into the ring , oh ya ,never!!
