thats not true about bjj the guy has to be standing still. -
WOOO WOOOOO HOLD ON LOI LOI , she is a C class shootfighter (advanced) , she has been training in shootfighting for two years and i have been training in bjj for almost five months, you got the two of us mixed up DID YOU UNDERSTAND MY THREAD, SHE IS THE ADVANCED STUDENT ,NOT ME, I AM LIKE A ORANGE BELT AND SHE IS LIKE A BLUE BELT, you obviously misread my thread, and she is definately not new to sparring,

mr heel hook has made some good points , and it must be a slap in the face for the japanese that the champion of pride is a brazilian jiujitsu guy and not a judo/jiujitsu/shooto/karate/ninpo guy i guess this shows that bjj can't be that bad and that it must have certain advantages over the traditional martial arts

Knees from the clinch
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to Severe Matburn's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
if you know how to use the clinch great, if you don't and you get there your in trouble, but im pretty sure most martial arts do clinch training or in other words close quarter combatives -
Respect to Tito Ortiz
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to Thai_Kick's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
DID YOU GUYS FORGET THAT CHUCK LIDELL AND TITO ORTIZ cross train in bjj under my grandmaster andre perdernieras at his las vegas academy, thats why lidell did so good against vitor, vitor is really good he has to learn to kick , and if not, than he has to at least me able to read his opponent so he can defend lidells powerfull kicks all the fighters deserve respect, they train hard and they fight hard , thats the bottom line, some of them might be a$$holes as people , but they all deserve respect as fighters -
loiloi if bjj is the same as judo than why is it classified as a seperate martial art, and i didn't say samurais didn't study jujitsu ,and yes the techniques should be modified if the person is not wearin armor, there has got to be a more effecient way of doing the technique when the armor is not on and every single technique that you saw on bjj.org is right out of the kodokan, than why isn't bjj called judo? every single comment on all the forums you have tried to put down bjj , are you jealous that you have spent all your time training in judo instead of bjj? thats your opinion , and i have trained in a system that covers the 5 areas of combat you have discussed , WWW.TONYBLAUER.COM check it our ,
-
loiloi your so opposed to bjj its unbelieveble, why didn't the g-d damn referee call it, its not up to the fighter , your turning this into a bjj v.s. judo thread and your definately wrong i can't wait for the rematch and royce will defeat him i agree with mr.heel hook , have you never been choked out loiloi?

yes thats what makes it terrible for todays standards , sure if it was still i dunno 200 a.d. you'd be able to kick some ass with your ninpo and jujitsu training, because thats the time period it was designed for , but ninpo especially (at least where i learnt it) needs to be modified to be street applicable, i studied genbukan ninpo
-
JUST BECAUSE IT HAS GROUND FIGHTING DOESN'T MEAN ITS GOOD, i studied ninpo for a while and their groundfighting was from jujitsu it was terrible, stop trying to justify that your art is better than bjj, you might think that, but BJJ IS NOT JUST JUDO AND WRESTLING, its a style all on its own and i can't belive you would say that if it worked for the samurai its good for me, the samurai, never even really used jujitsu, if he fell off his horse he was screwed and who knows if it even worked for them, is there documentation? and your not covered with armor and yielding a sword, so its tottaly different, and bjj is not wrestling and judo , STOP TRYING TO PUT BJJ DOWN, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THATS FINE, but keep your comments to yourself, constructive criticism is fine but not oh bjj is just judo and wresling, your so ignorant

whats that suppose to mean "unknown"? there are other studies done by other people and organisations that will back that up -
its really a brazilian jiu-jitsu way and thats only one variation of the double leg ,thats how i was taught, theres of course the one where you "shoot in" with one knee gliding on the ground, thats the way that most competitiors like to do it, but if you don't do it fast enough that your gonna be in trouble the technique is called bayana in portuguese ,and thats the gracies version of the double leg
-
royce didn't lose he might have lost if he continued , thats not the point though, he was not submitted , and why the F*** couldn't the referee see , hes the ref , they should have been restarted, theres no controversy about it, it wasn't yoshidas place to say that royce was out, the ref should have came to that conclusion, i think a rematch is in order and just in case i think they should wear no-gi, with normal rules not these awkward rules that royce made -up poor reffing , thats what it comes down to, it should be like football , where they can say exactly what happened with all the different camera angles
-
ok very good question the reason why we do this is because, in the street you don't want to go all the way down onto your knee when doin a wrestling double leg you tend to do this, thats fine for competitions but not for the street when you don't have kneepads, to protect your knees from the pavement the guy in the picture isn't doin it right, your suppose to pick the guy up and slam him on his back than pass his guard, i think your homophobic bison? is this true?

i would have to chose philip gelinas because he has never stopped learning and improving the martial arts community, philip is one of dan inosantos top students and friends, he holds the following ranks 8th degree black in kajukenbo, (hard style) 4th degree black in kajukenbo (chuan fa) black belt in kenpo karate, guro in kuntao silat and maphilindo silat instructo in muay thai (chai sirsute) full instructor in jkd purple belt in bjj intructor in kali ( also he was a dog brother) he has numerous instructors under him and for all his effort to expand the martial arts i applaud him -
small guy vs big guy?
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to Byrd12345's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
if you were to study bjj or judo, he would most likely have no clue what your doin and you'll be able to submit him with ease and perhaps put him to sleep and leave him for ridicule , with make-up on oh im a sick Basta**d -
