How to block Low Kicks??
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to Karateka_latino's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
intercept the kick with your shin , COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF -
please don't insult groundfighting like that, there is a time and a place for everything, now you might not agree with their approach ,BUT NOONE IS FORCING YOU TO LEARN IT, and another thing bjj fighters do deserve some respect, because mostly all martial arts have adopted ground techniques after seeing the capabilities of a skilled bjj fighter , chang wuji, if you have nothing nice to say, don;t say anything at all

Turning your back doing a technique
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to Adonnis's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
unless you can do it well and recover don't do it all, practice makes perfect, i have had some bad experiences using spin kicks so i just abandonned them and by doing so, i never exposed my back to my opponent -
you should work on developing speed , before you start to focus on power, if u develop speed, than and only than should you begin to add more and more power to your techniques ,but having power should not compromise your speed

Kicking the knee. What is best?
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to Nickgarren's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i actually tried kicking someone in the knee once and i did it hard and the guy's knee went in and hit the ground, but he got back up like 2 minutes later, a strong roundhouse to the knee should do the trick if you want to break it -
he has tried to throw me when i would be walking around places like parks and houses and i would give him a few punches or kicks just to warn him to back off, and that works but only for a little while, than like an hour later he'll get back up after being aggravated by someone and say i have 3 months bjj traing anyone challenging me? and ill just be like sit the fu*k down. i don't know why he needs to prove himself in that manner, i told him if, he wanted to prove himself he should enter a tounament and fight against people his size and he always tells me ,i have plans or i don't have money, i just keep throwing my silver medal in his face (just won it a few weeks ago) and it makes him so mad haha,

theres this guy in my group of friends who has done some bjj for like 3 months hes, very slow, and fat about 200 pounds and im 140, i have been studying bjj for 4 months and other systems of combat, he hasn't been to the dojo in 5 months and iknow i can beat him, but he always challenges me in front of people telling me im afraid of him and that im worse than him. he uses fould tactics during sparring like pinching, scratching, what should i do, to avoid fighting with this person, i know my skill level is superiour to his and i have nothing to prove. and he does this at social events, like im not here to train im here to have fun with friends , any suggestions?

The Chinese influence.
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to Kensai's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
karate was purely japanese , wasn't it , i know ninpo is almost fully japanese -
i agreee with you completely matburn and in fact i would strike and grapple with a guy my size to show him not to f*ck around and if his friends are there punch him or strike him in the face and throw him, his friends won't wanna mess, i would rather be an only grappler than only striker but the best combination is both, thats why i study bjj and boxing
