kirves you have no clue what you are talking about why does the karate student need guidance to interpret the katas and why is a boxer not capable of expressing himself through his technique, i think you need to think before you type "shadow boxing is not interpreted", you couldn't be more wrong, if tyson, holyfield,de la hoya, all fought the same way , what would happen than, of course they interpret their teachings and transform them into combinations and strategies that work for them, what martial arts experience exactly do you have?

How hurt do you get?
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to MuayTB1's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
bruises , black eyes , bloody nose(not broken) scrapes, cuts(minor cuz of the leather gloves) -
um no not quite kirves, jkd is , your taught various techniques from other arts and you put the ones that work best for you together, to work for you, you modify them if you want, than later on it is suggested that you research a certain area of fighting i.e. grappling ,stick fighting etc.. and improve on it do you even study jkd kirves ? and under whom might i ask?

i like how you think muay thai fighter and tkd master i gotta love them kneebars -
if self defense should be included than why isn't it, there are numerous tkd schools in my area including raymond mourad an 8th degree bb and from what i have seen all of them not just a few but all of them are more oriented with point sparring/competitions, so don't be offended that people pick on tkd, they have good reason to

bjj question
jiu-jitsu fighter replied to jiu-jitsu fighter's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
heel hook i know that thank you,, i am taught new techniques almost every class and when we aren't learning new techniques we're practicing the old ones, its just i have added a few kneebars and the heel hook to my arsenal plus a bunch of gi chokes and stuff at my academy the blue belts have actually defeated purple belts from other schools on several occasions so , and they know alot of stuff, i understand that the basics are extremely important ,but you also need to have a well rounded arsenal, and that must include leg locks , even if the guy is a "beginner"
