What gets me is these young teenagers doing that to adults. To describe a situation that happen to me and my husband. We were driving and came to a intersection in the road it was our turn to go, an we start to pull out and these teenager just came up to there stop sign and just blow through intersection not even paying attention to any one around them. My husband hit the horn or they would of hit us, well they gave us the middle finger and laughed at us. Well my husband lost it. He hit the gas to catch up to them and they slam on their breaks trying to get us to hit them and the passenger of the teenage car hung out her window and gave us double middle fingers. I just could not believe these girls and yelled at my husband for speeding up to catch up to them. To wrongs do not make a right. But I do understand him losing his temper.

There is a lot of things that I value about ma, but the most important thing is my confidence. I carry myself with more confidence I am more sure of myself meaning, I do not question myself as often.

I am looking in to buying a chest guard and I wondering if any of you guys have one and which one you like. I would like to get one that fits under my gi because I have notice that the ones on the outside you are a walking bullseye.
-
I could use it right now then and I would not even care about the needles because I have and awful flu bug over a week now.

I agree with what all was said above take your chance on your new sensei your lucky to have found some one that teaches close to the same style that you currently train in and if like this new sensei stay with him because I agree with Dobbersky on this what if your old sensei reopens and then close again down the road.

Killer Miller, that a shame about them associating earth quake with karate. My husband, son and I, all take karate have been doing it 3 years now.

This is one that you bend over with one leg behind you in the air (not way in the air when you bend over)and touch the floor with the opposite hand from the leg you are standing on and you go back and forth with each leg do it for reps. You can also do it with your eyes shut it is harder that way. Good luck I also suffer with a balance issue I am to easy to take down with sweeps and throws.

Alright! It sounds like he had a great time. I hope he stays with it an you can make it a special time that you and him do together.

That is awsome I know it so important for kids to take there medicine even though it makes them sick. It is awsome they came up with a game to help them through it. I remember my sister struggling with her meds. and I think she would like that game during her illness not only to help her take her meds. but to help with the boredom issue. I think I might send it to her for her cancer patients that she takes care of now. Thanks for sharing.

Good Job! -
Mine is pretty much the same here except that I work alot of off the line techniques, which I like to set back in weight but that helps me to be quicker and stay light on my feet I also drill my self defense routine I will practice it really slow like almost matrix speed except a little faster and the same with my kata, I will practice my kata with just my foot work and then add my hands the next time through. If your competing with kata practice it slow with your power, because when you get to the tournament nerves will be flying and the next thing you know you rushed through your kata and when you rush mistakes do happen.

I hear ya on that one. As much as I LOVE competing, and I do it for the sheer FUN of it, there are things I've seen go on that make my blood boil. Now, I don't care if I come home with a trophy or not, if I do, then it's an added bonus, but like I said, it's for the fun of competition. What DOES tick me off is when I see judges being biased or unfair. Come to think of it, I didn't start seeing any of this going on until I became a black belt. It doesn't ALWAYS happen, but it DID happen at the last two I went to and it soured my urge to attend more. I am not even a black belt and I have also seen the biasedness of the competition I really notice it in the last 2 that I attended especially in the Black belt and advanced division and I also notice it a little in the Children's divisions it is also discouraging me from competition it already has my 11 year old son.

New to sparring-I need some crucial pointers and tips
white owl replied to Jkoko's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Stay loose on your feet manying do not be flat footed use your angles and do not think to much, thinking to much will make you slow, at least it did me the first time I point spared. -
Did your dad teach you how to fight?
white owl replied to bushido_man96's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Yes, my Dad taught taught me a few things especially when I came home from school one day wearing a nice shiner and I had hurt my hand and he showed me then how to throw a punch correctly he wore a bruise on his arm for a week a when he wanted me to show him if I got it.
