  1. Your welcome! It is a very basic kata and I counted 13 moves when I practice it.
  2. Ahh, Doc Marten. I love my Doc's and my Levi's.
  3. Just rented a movie tonight and watch it. The movie was called Chocolate. (There also a review of it in the Black Belt Mag.) I thought it was a good movie awesome fight scene and the story line was ok. The movie stars Yanin Vismitananda, she is a girl that is autistic and can remember and imitate fight scenes of movies that she has seen. I was wondering if any one else has seen it and if you have not I recommend it.
  4. It is a very short form I am having a little trouble with GoshinJutsu back stances since in Shotokan are back balance stances (back stance) are L shape and theirs are not. The back foot is off to the side a little more. I agree with bushido_man it is a kata for the lower ranks. When we visited our sister school we were taught 2 forms in hour in a half. that is how simple it is and it repeats itself over and over. Pretty cool though.
  5. Went out of business in my area before X-mas. I like it to.
  6. I would really watch diet. Just cutting carbs. good but what is your fat an calorie intake. I would add in some weights training if you have them available if not use your body weight pushups, body weight squats there different verity of them lunges, planks and burpee's which work the whole body and you can make burpees difficult by doing so many in so many minutes. Just an idea.
  7. Yuck! I know my sensei has a pair of focus mitts that smell bad and after 3 times washing my hands I could not get the smell off my hands so I started to bring mine from home and I use my own instead of his. Take plenty of hand sanitizer for afterward.
  8. This is not a real good view of it but it is the only I found when I typed on youtube. here it is it is a very short kata;
  9. You know what I like anything cheap. In my area where I live they just put in a Ross's and Marshall. Love them! Now even my husband likes to go shopping with me.
  10. We incorporate some boxing in are karate lessons. I love it! It is a great work out for the mitt holder and the one hitting the mitts. Sometimes I do not know who gets more of a work out.
  11. That is what I was told. I look at person like you are joking with me and he was serious. Some one else said the same thing to me later on.
  12. Taikyoku 1 (we call Kicho Kata) Pinan 1 Pinan 2 Pinan 3 Pinan 4 Pinan 5 Tekki 1 Chinte Basai Dai Kibon We are a sister school to a Goshin Jutsu school so we are learning there katas an so far I got; Hajimente Futatsu

  15. This is a good one because if you do not have the proper chamber you are going to hit the chair. You can also do it with side kicks.
  16. I just got a new one, It happen a little over a month ago. I was doing a round kick and came back up for a axe's kick and twisted my ankle that I had my weight on, I heard and felt a pop in my ankle and it hurt really bad and it swelled and about a week later it had all the pretty colors. Well it has been over a month since it happen it still bothers me bad at times so I had it x-ray last week it is not broken put I was told that I probably pulled or torn some tendons and it is just going to take time. I think this is the worse injury I have had so far and I have had a few, more than a few.
  17. I know how you feel kez, I was told I will be testing for my shodan some time in the early or late spring. My sensei's said I have the fundamentals down and katas.
