  4. There is already a thread dealing with computer help....its in this section and its called (i think) Computer Help & Tips.
  5. Its hard to say what is proven to work in most areas. I know the company I work for got a lot of customers simply by word of mouth and newspaper ads. That is the main reason people give when we ask. As for MA the thing that seems to catch a lot of peoples eye are big newspaper ads, Flyers spread around town, and Business Cards. Droping promotional items somewhere is a way to spread them around. I was once told to take a handful of pens with the company name on them and lose them. The traditional newspaper and Radio ads are a good start if you can afford them. Specially Radio.
  6. Welcome. Gymnastics and Martial Arts can be a good mix. I've seen it.
  7. Ummm......I'm 21
  8. I am a Gauntlent Adventure or a Pac man Ghost
  9. I think any style would be a help...something with quick effective strikes or something that teaches disarming techniques would be ideal. Combination of a striking and grappling art....Sambo and Shotokan...maybe.....No style takes importance over another. You also have to remember what is in the confines of the law.....hmmm..sorry just thinking. Hapkido and Sambo (or BJJ) Tae Kwon Do and Aikido Combinations are almost endless.
  10. The article is in black belt....but i am looking for a couple actors to post an article on about in this forum.
  11. Mine was pretty wacky.....................well really wacky. Thanks for the link KickChick......... Have a safe holiday everyone.
  12. Don't fret I'm 21 and have that problem Anyway Welcome to the Forum

  15. I try to read....time is my main issue. I like to read a lot of different kinds of books....even educational....my kids, work, school, and MA take a lot of my time though.
  16. Haven't looked yet but sounds interesting
  17. I think that depending on the teacher and the style is what makes anything effective. Oh and also the student. I can see where kata may cause some concern but there are already many threads and opinions on that....so i won't get into that. Karate is effective only if you have a good teacher and student. In my opinion that goes with the majority of things in life not just MA. I could say certain grappling arts are ineffective....but I am a MA who trains in multiple styles so it would be unfair to say that considering I know how to combat many takedowns and locks. Its all in the knowledge you have and how you apply it.
  18. I myself don't like Fear Factor. I just liked how he does a lot and shows the fighting spirit of martial artists.
  19. I pretty sure that is his name. Did you all know that he is in Tae Kwon Do and Mauy Tai Kickboxing. He is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. According to the article I read on him (which is in black belt magazine) he says martial arts kept his life on track. He also thinks the show fear factor really has no point and it is not a reality show. The show he hosts he is very blunt about. Of course according to the article he is blunt a lot....says whats on his mind. He does stand up comedy too.....hmmmmm....... Martial Artists seem to be into many different things in which MA helps them in.....hmmmm..... . Read the article if you want to know more on him.
  20. I don't bench for mass....I bench less wieght more times. 90 lbs usually....When I did do mass two years ago I believe I was at 190 or 200? something in there.
  21. To my understanding your suppose to be able to get your mind past the point of even knowing the person is there bending your arm. It is sometimes a drill to teach concentration and to get your mind away from things around you and concetrate on one thing. We have the unbendable arm in my dojo....it was taken from aikido.
  22. Thank the lord....i was going threw KF withdrawal..... Kept in touch with Patrick though and trust me nothing he could do....and working for an ISP I also know things sometimes can go majorly wrong.
