It's rude to .......
BlueDragon1981 replied to karatekid1975's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
There is a thread about contracts. Its under martial arts and politics. Check it out if you havent yet. -
I train alone a lot. Basically just do my katas, shadow box and try to work on my speed. Sparring is the thing you need to watch. I believe without sparring you will not get better at it no matter how much you train.

It's rude to .......
BlueDragon1981 replied to karatekid1975's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I offer my advice so why would I not give it to a student who asks.... I dont see anything wrong with asking either as long as the ediquette is there. (I've been known not to give advice if the manners of the individual werent there) Matter of fact in my school they are always encourged to ask. Specially since they are suppose to be watching the ring when they are not fighting. -
stance in real life
BlueDragon1981 replied to blood talon's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
My stance changes all the time. I dont have one stance. I adjust it to my opponent. Style doesnt matter to me. For the most part I just stand there and wait for an attack to come. -
Question on quickest way to end the trouble
BlueDragon1981 replied to Nickgarren's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Ummm..........first try not to fight. Then if no other choice then stike wherever your insticts tell you with just enough intensity to knock them away to either tell them that there not messing with the correct person or giving you time to get out of there. Eyes, Troat, Solar Plexis, Knees would be a fare bet. -
I believe no one art is better...I think that you have to train for it in every art. If you have no training in it then you will not know what to exspect. So the best things are your mind and training to be prepared. If you want to look at it in an art sense. Then I think... Aikido Aiki Jutsu A striking art that has incorparated a joint locking style or moves. (ex: Kempo with an Aiki Jutsu touch) Grappling arts that keep you on your feet and make them fall. So you see it depends on how you train....

Simple fun but dont forget that it is martial arts and there should be some sense of discipline and learning. Often younger kids need to be reminded that you are not just baby sitting them.

Actually since Korey Stringer of the Vikings died high school players are told to watch the color of their pee. Of course I knew that awhile back, but it is a good point. Did you know that things that water and milk although healthy we can not consume more than a gallon of them at a time. %99 of people who try will just throw it back up. Milk and Water should not be consumed more than 16 oz at a time. (meaning one big drink.) Your stomach does not accept more than that a lot of times. (Weird that they are so healthy but we can take to much at once)

Action Movies
BlueDragon1981 replied to KickChick's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
I watched Red Skies last night. I thought that it was a descent movie. Kind of out of the ordnary to have a two women fight scene. What were the names of the two women in that movie. Lee and the blond she faught with? -
Like I said who are some of the old forumers. Does anyone know why they dont post or they left. I think this is a great forum. I hope something didnt happen to get them mad. I know some things can be heated subjects but I would never want anything that I said to make anyone leave. I respect opinions even if they are not mine. So list anyone who you would like to see back on here. Im still actually new kind of to the forums so I dont know to many.

This is a question to see what people think about the NHB competitions. I dont really have much of an opinion on this one. The UFC is probably the most popular. I think they all are close to the same. Pride UFC King Of the Cage Pancrase

Hmmmmmmm.......... How about a physical test first. ... Drain all there energy. Then make them do all there katas. After that self defensed tests against different things. Then full contact sparring with more than one oppanant. After that they should do there breaks (board breaks if you have them in your style for the test). After which they should know all the terminology and from the first rank to the last without skipping a beat. Not to mention a written test that would test there maturity level. Also to make them a little more nervous make them do it in front of all the black belts you have while they write things down that they did wrong. Okay and last but not least make them do all the dirty work around the dojo until they take there test about 4 months ahead of time. I think this test might be to easy though...what do you think.

KarateForums.com Merchandise? Feedback Wanted!!!

I would like to see them all...unfortunatly I dont have any money to buy anything. (kind of finacially strapped at the moment) -
Yes the US has arrogance. That comes with the freedom Im afraid. I personally dont think there should be war. Humans just cant ever agree on anything I guess. Greed and Power are what is important in most countries. I don't like many of the politcians ideas on things but really I cant do much about them. Most the things you mentioned would not have been done if the general public was asked. Most news in politics is told to the public days behind. Politics is a heated arguement and I dont want to offend or get anyone mad. Its just that there are so many minds thinking about so little things. It is bound that disagreements happen. I think a lot of things could be handled better but they are not. To me a Holy war does not make sense. A war in the name of a religion does not make sense. Im sure some people would disagree with me on that also. See I knew that people from other countries would have a reaction against America and Americans would say they are doing the right thing. Pride for ones country offen times takes many lives. I do have pride for my country but it in a sense is for the people who formed the country and died for the country. In todays society who knows what we can do to keep the peace. It will probably never be done, I hope it does happen but it probably never will.

I think that it is all in how you are raised. I watched violent movies, heard music with profanity, and was told what was right and what was wrong. All the games and movies did to me was give me a great imagination and a sense of what is up in the world around me. I dont swear (to often), Don't in any way promote violence and I play all kinds of games and watch movies and shows with all of that in them. I was raised to know what is right and what is wrong. My family has never not let me own a game, music, or movie that has a bad rating since I was old enough to see them or play them. I guess they just raised me correctly. (I do see kids with parents who dont teach them anything and they are going to grow and not be to respectable.) Also I dont want to forget that my martial arts has also shaped who I am. In a big way my parents and my martial arts have taught me a lot of things in my life and without those two things I do not honestly know where I would be.

That is not to much if you are not feeling tired and fatigued. You should have the opposite feeling. You should be feeling energetic and alive. Anything over 10 pounds in a week I would say you would have to look at. Most times you will lose fast on a good diet. It will narrow out though. Your body will only go so far. Dont push it to much past that. If you start loosing only 1 or 2 pounds a week dont get discouraged. Actually I probably lose and gain 5 pounds again in one day. Weighing myself at different times of the day has proven that. It is usually water weight. I think my most acurate weight would be the one in the morning after I first wake up.

Does everyone hate their gi/dobok?
BlueDragon1981 replied to rabid hamster's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Actually my original gi is so worn out it is rather comfy. I wear it to bed sometimes. ( ) The one I have now is comfortable too. I wear a black gi. My whole dojo does. No other color is really accepted. Eventually my higher ranks when I have a school will be able to pick from black, white, blue, or red. Lower ranks will always were black though. I think the gi makes a good uniform for a martial artist. Most of them allow for flexiblity and they are usually durable. -
Little Know Facts......????
BlueDragon1981 replied to BlueDragon1981's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Actually I think he was a black belt. (Elvis) Michael Jai White has black belts or higher in 6 styles of MA Jeff Speakman dedicated his movie Perfect Weapon to Ed Parker. Steven Seagal is rumored to have once been in the CIA. (no clue if it is true) -

Getting a sunburn every once in awhile is not bad for your skin. Getting one all the time is. A lot of foods with grain type items in them will make you sleepy. Turkey will also make you sleepy. People who exercise on a regular basis generally have less stress. Since they have less stress they are generally healthier. Since they are generally healthier they generally live longer. So basically stress is a silent killer. It wears down your body and mind.

Well anything I have will be turned around. I do know that Ken likes to black out certian parts of written documentation so that you cant see them. That right there should tell people something. Also he has to get his names right. He says he has a diplomia on Durant that shows he is only a shodan. Look at it closely however and you see it was awarded to Matt Durant his son. I dont have a scanner(....which will probably be turned around on me...so people would say that that is an excuse...but I assure you I dont) Also most the people I know that respect Durant the most are schools that dont even teach Goshin. One school is one that teaches Shotakan and another is one that teaches something else. (King Cobra something) The one who has the most proof lives in Florida and I have been trying to get ahold of him to get this straighted out. He was going to write a book about Durant. He has a lot of Documents and tapes on Durant. Have not been able to contact him. So there is another point that they would all jump on. Any proof I do have will be changed and altered. Plus I dont see why he would do all this after his death. How about you? Why would he need to black out things and edit tapes (which you can clearly see the editing) So you see something is not right about his sole called proof. I am working on getting ahold of the person who has all this documentation.
