Little Know Facts......????
BlueDragon1981 replied to BlueDragon1981's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Oh yeah continue posting little known facts about martial arts. Doesnt matter what...just that they are not heard of to often. -
Did you know that TR (Teddy Rosevelt) was a sportsman. He loved new ideas and new types of sports. He also like combat stadegies. It is said that he invited numerous style of martial arts from other countries over to america. It is also said that he trained a little bit in each one. Never holding a rank however. TR just basically did it because he was intrigued by the idea of the Martial Arts. So Martial Arts was here in the United States before it became known in the United States. (of course TR was the president so I assume he had some power to get what he wanted done) TR in my opinion is one of the greatest minds America has ever had. He did a lot for the sports world also. Since he loved sports.

Jhoon Rhee is in my opinion a good martial artist. He I think has been appointed to some kind of political postion. Its under the martial arts and politics. (Im the one who posted it) Dont believe all the rumors you hear. Just research it yourself. The Grand Master In my style is getting a lot of untrue stuff said about him. It started after he died and from a person who does not like him. So trust me rumors you think arent true....research them and often times you will find out different.

Multiple Opponents. That is always good. Sometimes even three. That way you have to concentrate on all three. Usually you should put beginners in at first with someone intermediate or advanced. Then gradually make it harder. Blind fold....It is kind of dangerous and recommend only advanced students doing it. Differnt types of sparring. A knockdown gives a point. No points accepted unless they are hard and clean (full contact with control). Street Fight simulation. Fake club vs. Empty hand. Hope I helped out.

Ya Monty is cool. My whole dojo I think likes Monty Pathon.

I would never sign a contract myself requiring a year of service. If you think you want to be in the art for a long time is the only reason I would sign. I do have contracts but all the ones I have written up are about injuries so I dont get sued. (No insurance to keep costs low) That is just to protect me from the sue happy world we live in. (Example is McDonalds when they got sued because a person got burned by coffee. So now anything hot has to say it on it. Come on now its Coffee it is going to burn you. That is just ignoranance)

Sex can cure a headache....(and lots of other things). It is true really....Just didnt want to put it on here till now. (Running out of did you knows)

I dont know why Ken would be doing this. I have proof that he was nothing that Ken is saying. Should I dig up stuff on Ken and doctor it to make him look like a fake. No I wont do that. You all can think what you think about the system. I know from actuall sources outside of Goshin and from other schools that he is Legit. If Ken has nothing better to do than to give a great martial artist a bad name then nothing I can do can stop him. You must realize that he is faking a lot of his so called documents. Don't Judge the style on what Ken says. Come and see the style and Judge for yourself.

All that stuff that Ken has about Durant is bogus. He provides false documentation and doesnt know what the #$% he is talking about. I have done research myself. All his documents that he supposably says are proof are all doctored in some way. Ken has something against Durant. He never even started any of this until Durant died. If you have any questions about Durant look up and research him yourself. Dont believe Ken. He is nothing but a fake himself. If he wasnt afraid of Durant then he would have started this when he was alive. Not after he passed away. Durant was not liked even by people in the association. He was a jack#$%. I asure you that his martial art is real and legit however. It has been tested time and time again.

How about all of the above. -
See if you want to know something ask KickChick. (and I thought I had some knowledge on health) I will be visiting that site to help some of my older family memebers choose a new diet...

Actually yes that is true. Im not sure what foods are for what blood type but it is true. They are getting more and more info that your blood type may effect you more than you know on your weight. Each Blood type has there do's and dont's but Im not sure yet on what they are. I will have to gain some info on this when I get the chance. (Heck KickChick probably knows. If she is on and knows please post.)

Genetics have a role in everything. I have found that it is much easier for people with a line of genetics to be thin to stay thin. Everything I have research shows me this. It can also be changed. If someone in a family of thin people do nothing they will stay thin until about the age of 25. Then if they sit around and do nothing and eat big amounts of food they can make themselves bigger which in turn gives there kids a %25 chance to be bigger. This also works in reverse. Someone who works out all the time to lose weight. (Lose it naturally by eating right and exercise) Even if they dont lose all that much and they stay healthy they can pass a %25 chance for their kids to be have more of a thirst to work out. So genetics can have a role. You can help them out though. Meat has much needed protien that helps your body heal when you work out. Meat offen times from grocery stores have water and air added to them. (good thing I get my beef right from the source, my uncle has a beef farm)

Knife hand
BlueDragon1981 replied to Warhammer's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Shutting your eyes might help because some of the metal handicaps wont be there. You can us ki or chi to help. I have seen a guy stick one finger through a full pop can. That is some major concentration and technique. -
Ya I can see where a oar would come in handy. Recently I have been reading more about them in magazines. They suddenly like to throw in weapons like that sometimes. One thing I think that would be useful to learn would be the chain. They are hard to work with but could be a big help if you know how to use them and you are in an area with one. Also a belt would be a good weapon. They believe it or not can help you even the odds in a knife fight. Belts, Chains and Rocks.

Look at the styles around you and see which one you think fits you the most. Go with your instincts. After a while if you dont like that one move to another one. No art is better than another but one may fit you better. Its up to you to choose. (watch the classes and see which you think fits you...oh and watch the instructors. Some are bogus and even an untrained eye can see them if they really look)

A geezer.....hmmmmm.....sometimes I feel like one and Im 20. I call my parents the geezers usually and my grandparents the ancients. Its all in good fun though. I just pick on them. I think the way you feel is really what matters. If your young at heart and you move all day your not a geezer. My Uncle is over 50 and probably one of the most fit people I know. He works hard and is healthy. I wouldnt call him a geezer. I only call my parents that to pick on that but for the most part I wouldnt consider them geezers either. Maybe the really old pruny man sitting on his cabin steps playing the banjo. Can't really move and he is singing to his hound. That might be a geezer (not that there is anything wrong with that.) Basically in all of my rambling on Im saying it depends how young the person feels at heart.

Defending One's Property
BlueDragon1981 replied to MonkeyNinja's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Most material Items I would just let them have. If they tried to harm a member of my family or my children I would probably beat the *iss out of them. I think at the age of 15 you have the mind to know what you are doing and if it is wrong. So you get what comes to you. As for the victims they should have just let it go because it was just material. Just hand them into police if you see them. Much safer that way. Specially as a martial artist. We would get heavier charges on us. -
Alot of natural foods take more energy to burn than they give you. (Other than grains and meats or anything canned)

LOL..........Ya when Im sparring I get a feeling that comes. I dont feel any pain when in the ring. I dont notice any hard shots until after the break or after the match. In my dojo every black belt makes things look effortless. It does go by the rank though. After all your suppose to be progressing in more than physical things.

Attitudes of the General Public
BlueDragon1981 replied to MonkeyNinja's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Some of this goes on everywhere I think. Not by just that ages your saying. I have noticed it at all ages....wether it be an adult laughing or a kid packing an attitude. Either way I think it is because they dont know the true meaning of the martial arts and may not have respect no matter what the age is. I dont really let it bother me and I educate any who are willing.
