  1. As far as I know and I am not positive on this I think Hangetsu and Seisan are performed almost indentical.
  2. My art is a Karate based art however it incoporates grappling adn joint locks and throws.
  3. Easy to do it took me almost 3 years to get through that kata.
  4. Or find an art like what I teach that teaches both.
  5. Not a problem... hope you get better soon and if you do film a video, please give me the link. Thanks. Thanks will do.
  6. I had heard that also but I don't remember who. Might have been Nakazato Sensei but I don't know for sure.
  7. Glad to hear it but I never had any doubts.
  8. A very good point that many people miss or forget.
  9. setup is the key to blend it in to combos. Only time I use a true ushiro geri is in self defense from grabs from behind or in a retreating mode.
  10. Use a slight turn of the hips if you are overturning you will loose your balance but don't feel bad it was a hard kick for me to devolop and not fall over or loose my balance. Work at it hard but slow and you will get it.
  11. Yeah there is to much garbage being shown in the movies. People think its real.
  12. No problem if I can help I am a email or a PM away.
  13. Bummer I wish I could help more. Any info on the instructor?
  14. Kez, You feel safe and welcomed in the dojo thats a lot of it to. Keep up the good work and I am glad to hear you are fighting it. I wish you the best in beating this terrible thing. Just remember the "I CAN" attitude at all times. Confidence is the key once you can get that to where you need it your attacks will slow down. Being fearful of things in todays world is easy especially since fear is natural being unafraid is the difficult part thats for sure.
  15. Thats the thing I am no longer with that man. He is the one who really treated me badly and is still trying to. Oh well thats his problem. I have support much much better people and high ranking black belts.
  16. Yeha I have had a good following and saved alot of students from quiting because of him but lost many to. But I figure 22 years of training and 12 years of teaching its time to go into it full time.
  17. Good explanation. Sorry I didn't get the video. I pulled a muscle in my back again so I have been able to kick well the last few days.
  18. Thanks. One of the downfalls I have according to my old instructor is I actually care about the students what they do and what they don't, their achievements and their problems. He said I was to attached.
  19. Kez, Thanks for the compliment on the website. Not even close to what I would like it to be though. As far as your feling that you couldn't defend yourself that attitude will put you there. You need to start always believeing you can and thats when you will truly succeed. I have a saying in my dojo there is no such word as can't. I won't accept it as an excuse in or out the dojo. I tell my students to try their best at everything they do and I will be proud of them no matter the outcome.
  20. Going by the spelling I have never heard of it. Do you have a website I can look at?
  21. What you are feeling is normal from what I have seen over the past 22 years. Take it in stride and work past it. Don't let it get you down and you will be fine. Best of luck!!
  22. I have heard of experiment that was done in the 90's with a pro boxer and a 5th dan black belt and the karateka hit much harder.
