Very good. The student's abilities with regards to form are a reflection of the instructor. As for the kids...things are different now adays.
  2. Pizza! Ok, so it is not the healthiest but then I'm worth it.

  12. As others have mentioned it is possible but there needs to be something done and it needs to be effectively reletively fast. Am I correct?
  13. Breathing is a key element. I can't explain it in writing well enough to be effective. Find a school or an instructor who can personally assist. Good luck
  14. A bit off of the subject but from the link provided by Cross, I believe it was, their BB conference was in Banf AB Canada. One heck of a nice place. Very beautiful area, very calming. Excellent choice!!! Excellent!!

Good luck on your Pian Ni Dan kata. Does Wado Ryu use the actual Pian Ni Dan or is it the what was called at one time Pian Sho Dan version? I suppose the best way to answer this (since after writing this I confused myself a bit) is this the first Pian kata that you are learning or have you learned Pian Sho Dan yet? Just curious. Either way, the best of luck
  16. I like the idea mentioned by June 1 that you observe and recall how you were trained. Start from there. Look at other instructors to get your feet wet and then, once comfortable, start working on your own style of teaching. Don't worry about it. Don't think about it. Just do it. You'll be just fine. Good luck

  19. Sounds like a good idea to me
  20. I agree. Online stuff can "show" you but cannot teach you. Teaching requires some hands on at certain levels I believe
  21. They're not serious?
  22. I use to meditate in the morning and evening. I also used calming music in the mid afternoon during my afternoon break. Sadly, I do not seem to find the time to do this anymore and it shows I am afraid. Thanks for the post. It has given me something to slow down a bit and find a few minutes, as before, for reflection and calming.
  23. Maybe the sign was cheaper than a "Tae Kwan Do" sign and/or as others have said they felt that it would be more easily understood. The TKD schools around me at least are very proud of the fact that they are TKD and are rather specific in their signs.
  24. congratulations
  25. some men feel threatened (not physically...just their manhood). I know guys back in the day that made fun of MA and martial artists in the neighborhood. A number of years later it was "the thing" to do and they were doing it so it was alright. Crazy
