  1. warlock you can still find the virtua fighter games in the stores,as for the arcade I don't know. Then Jade I don't think that it's a good idea to ask now since the game barely came out today, butI'm not sure if it will be good because it's not a actual tournament fighting game.
  2. exactly, then these people that want a korean instructor. What about when you get to instructor level,do you think that you shouldn't teach the arts because youre not korean?
  3. I guess it does strengthen your bones because these people were breaking boards and bricks like it was nothing.
  4. well light weught are more of an endurance thing.
  5. I don't know,I remeber it as to simple for me.Right now I'm mastering Saifa, and it's been pretty cool seeing as how the two other katas I have memorized are very similar.
  6. well some guy in a previous thread mentioned something about how racism in Korea was an acceptable thing, but since I've never been to korea,I can't agree or disagree.Anyways, theres also been people that the instructor being asian isn't enough, they have to be from the country the style originated from. The way I see it for those people ,what if they want to train in a style with chinese , korean , and japanese influence? What are they going to do?,find an instructor that's mixed with the three? So like I've mentioned before,it doesn't matter.
  7. well I've heard that people who do this have some calcium deposits in their bones that they got from training(if anybody saw tha xma spaecial on the discovery chanel, they know what I'm talking about). As for arthritis in your knucles , maybe you din't use proper form or did a lot of knuckle push ups over the years.
  8. well how do you know that those pics werent done with photoshop ar something like that?
  9. well my school doesn't do that ,but I've heard of schools that instructor push them to the limits even if they don't want them to.
  10. Raw vs smackdown? These games are to slow for fighting games.
  11. "But mostly I'd say that gets said as a way of instructors keeping there students from wandering of and trying things that involve giving there money to someone else" that was how my last school was. They wouldn't let anybody do any style outside that school, and they wouldn't let any student do any martial arts related thing outside that school without permission. Anyways,so what you guys are saying is that people shouldn't train in more than one style untill it is fully mastered?
  12. well as for chinese kenpo I know theres shaolin kenpo and kara-ho kenpo.also I've heard chinese kenpo called chuan-fa,but I don't know if that changes the style or not. Then for korean I can't say the names of any becuase this came from what I read in article in some magazine. One more thing I know that kenpo and kempo is the same thing, but what's with changing the pronounciation?
  13. "looking beyond the person" hmm, sounds good.I might try that next time I spar.
  14. exactly, most people don't train for the ring so I wouldn't worry about that.As for ground fighting ,I heard it does, but it's real nasty on your opponent.Judo is great too , but i wouldn't pass up the chance of hapkido.
  15. hmm very good point
  16. jay both power and accuracy are impotant.Hey ninjanurse how was the training?Did it give you any good results ?bad results?Did it toughen up your hands?
  17. I see,gotcha.I guess it's a stereotype or something.
  18. "Keep your fingers, you need it to post here." exactly he he he.Actually when I first learned them I thought they were the coolest thing in martial arts. Then when I was in the back of my dads delivery truck punching holes through empty boxes I tried one of these finger tip strikes.I thought it would be easiers to accoplish because theyre slimmer than a fist and I could already punch through. When I actually did it I hurt my fingers and put a cold soda on them. That made me not be too fond of them.I find that if I bend the top parts of my fingers it works better becuase it's less painful.I guess it's just experience.
  19. well if it is in another city you can't expect this guy to drive there often being that he's low on cash, but yeah a lot of the times in a school that has monthly payments you can arrange something.
  20. well they were showing about the past few decades of history. They showed how they came here to America and were tough as nails. Also how a lot of them were into martial arts.
  21. Well I don't think I will watch it with a pinch of salt because that's the amount of salt I'm supposed to have a day due to some health issue.Anyways I would expect something like that from a movie because it is for entertainment purposes. The only thing though is that I don't know if it's available here in america,so my friend said he will download it and show me.
  22. I've met people that think learning martial arts from an asian instructor is better because they think that he/she is more in touch with what the style is about and therfore knows more. This has been from both non-asian and asian people.
  23. why should it matter in the first place? The only way that I wouldn't train at a school is if I really have a hard time understanding what he or she is saying.
