tiger, when you work on plyometrics I suggest wearing good shoes and practicing it somewhere soft like on mats or grass.. and not cement. plyometrics can stress your ankle and knee joints.

Okay, you know that ketosis diet where you don't eat any carbohydrates and only eat fruits, veggies and meat, so your body starts eating fat, or something like that. I am planning to start this when summer vacation starts, but isn't this dangerous? and can you lose muscle from doing this? I don't want to lose muscles, just fat.

I never heard of this second wind thing, but is it where you exercise a lot, and you get really tired, but you keep going and all the sudden you feel like you have way more energy then when you first started, and you feel as though your endurance got bigger and you can keep going forever?

Ooh hey I heard this happens to A LOT of martial artist. I forgot who, but this person went to a massage therapist, and the massage therapist heard her hips crack as she was massaging her, so he/she did something and after that, that person's hips didn't crack. So maybe you should go see a massage therapist.. I really don't remember where I read it though, i'll try to find it.

"My god, that was a great workout - I'll still aching!"
rabid hamster replied to Tobias_Reece's topic in Health and Fitness
I used to get lots of aches and stuff, but now I warm up and stretch for 30 minutes and I never get those anymore. -
Hapkido-Couger... How can you have not heard of the art, then all the sudden you know of it but don't like it...? Don't confuse me. >

Hey, what a coinkedink. I do TKD, and I am planning to do either wing chun, hapkido, or ninjitsu when I get a little more advanced. I'm wondering the same thing, but I'd say if you do wing chun, you should probably do an art that includes things like grappling and stuff. And also, doesn't wing chun have kicks(even if they are low)?

I Am Sick Of So Many Things
rabid hamster replied to BlueDragon's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Yes I totally agree about the kid thing. I think kids, adults, and teens should all be in seperate classes. It's annoying waiting for little kids to get something right, plus I just don't like being in the same class as them, it makes me feel old lol. As for the adults, the women adults are okay with me because I am as good as them, but some of the guy adults(not all) kick so much harder then I can and that gets annoying too.. Even if their technique does suck. -
Common.. can a gun defence actually work? If someone sticks a gun in your head you're gonna be scared and freaking out, will you really have the time to think of what to do? I guess no one will ever know though, unless they've been through the actual situation.

Hapkido
rabid hamster replied to rabid hamster's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Good site, there it goes, to my favorites list. Thanks kickchick. -
Are forms suppose to be done fast or slow or at a medium pace? And this is what I'm really cluless on: I'm still a white belt in TKD, but I want to start another art(while also doing TKD). I think I could do it once I get into a higher belt but I'm already 13 years old, and i understand by the time i'm in highschool i won't have very much time to practice martial arts. so in a way I also want to start now while I'm young with some free time on my hands. what do you think i should do? if i do start, i want to start during this summer vacation, and if i don't start during this summer vacation, i'm not in the mood to start during 8th grade*next year* and after that it's highschool time. man, life goes by way too fast. soon im gonna be paying for my own taxes.

I'm 13 but often I hear those clicking sounds in my joints and my knees hurt often. Should I take it and where can you get it?

Here's a question: Does hapkido usually have tournments? I always thought it didn't, but there was a hapkido weapon tournment around here recently.

Oh lol. I know what board breaking is Not that I've tried it yet. I'm fairly new to the martial arts. Sorry if I ask stupid questions for a while -
exactly what is "processed food"? And what's the difference between high carb and low carb? thanks.
-
Hi, I just heard about the paleolithic diet. If anyone has tried this, does it work, and is it healthy for you? I always thought carbs were good, as long as you didn't eat too much of it and if you wanted to try this diet, what kind of stuff should you eat? thank you

Hapkido
rabid hamster replied to rabid hamster's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Well looks like no one could answer my last question. But, I've found two hapkido schools that are really close by to me. http://www.prmaa.com http://www.modernhapkido.com By just looking at the site, which one seems to be a better place? on the modern hapkido site, if you go to events, you will see that they went to a hapkido weapons tournment, but I always thought hapkido didnt have tournments? And what's the difference between regular hapkido and "modern" hapkido? That is if there is any. Thank you very much. -
Hey thanks Bon! Maybe I'm a carbohydrate addict! I bettter reduce the amount of carbs I eat.. all my meals mainly consists of carbs....

What makes a great kata (form)
rabid hamster replied to Taokara's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
