  1. This is great humility shown there, kudos to you. Must be the holiday season approaching. Merry Christmas!!!!
  2. Christmas is such a great holiday season. What I like the most is I often go to Florida. In fact I'm leaving the 21 and coming back only a month later. Can't wait!!!!! I also love the beer even more during the holiday season!!
  3. I normally listen to heavy metal music. But one cd that boosts my training is the rocky collection album. A real booster!!
  4. I agree with the rest, but I understand the kid for not coming back. Don't feel responsible for him not coming back he's probably too embarrassed since he was punished in front of the others. It's hard to know how to react in such situations. I have a degree in second language teaching so I do substitute in teaching sometimes. Two months ago one of the kids made a girl (10 years old) fall from her chair and she began to cry. I really had no idea how to react. Everyone pointed to the kid saying he's responsible, he says he isn't, th girl is crying. Oufff really tough to know what is the best thing to do under those circumstances.
  5. Have a nice trip!! Looks like a great place to visit! Hummmmm bikini babes
  6. Well learning to fight with a gi can surely be beneficial if you live in Canada like me and you get into a fight with someone wearing a jacket during winter
  7. My former BJJ instructor used to to do Knuckle push-ups where he would throw his body into the air (while doing a push-up) and land on his knuckles. Probably would hurt me like hell in the long run, but his knuckles seemed used to it.

  10. Well I'm also biased but I like Judo because it is good while standing up and also capable when on the ground. So for a grappling art it is pretty complete in my opinion.
  11. All of those could do the job. My advice would be to mix two. Grappling and striking, then you'd be real good.
  12. Good post, nice to see everything went well. Just make sure to becareful next time, they might try to get back at you.
  13. I haven't seen this movie, but I have no doubt he was good, he's simply a very good actor.
  14. Good thing 'the scrapper' got schooled, that should keep him quiet for the rest of the year.
  15. Depends. If you're going backwards to the dojo because of him, I say maybe it's time for a breath of fresh air. Perhaps you could take on a new martial art to complement and add to what you have learned in shotokan. Take something you possibly lack competency in (ex. grappling, weapons manipulation, etc.)

  17. Nice to see another fellow from Quebec, welcome!!
  18. Yes sad indeed, but that's life, we'll all pass there some day.

  20. My first language is french, and my second is english. I would love to learn spanish though
  21. Coralreefer_1 wrote: Of course I'd do the same. You guys are right and I am not debating this. In a street fight anything goes, this is probably why I would never be a good street fighter I guess. I just know for a fact that I wouldn't focus at the groin at the beginning of the fight, I'd surely try to use punching and my Judo. Unless someone would grab my hair (I have long hair) or would try something nasty would I become nasty also. A real street fighter doesn't have this mentality, this is why I would never be a good street fighter.
  22. Thanks for the reply, that answers my question!
  23. These guys are positive they could take you if you ask me. Be careful of such invitations. Most people who practice the arts that fare well in MMA events wrongly frown upon TMA and believe they can take them on easily. My opinion is that they saw you did Tae Kwon Do, thought of you as an easy target (with their rules) and deceided to invite you for easy money.
  24. I understand what you guys are saying, however I don't know if I would use dirty tactics on the street (unless it was really necessary) I mean, at the beginning of the fight I wouldn't try to kick the guy in the balls even if I had the chance, I would only use this as a last resort.
