  1. Try to run the hell out of there and call the cops!!
  2. I actually think Death Warrent is pretty good. People over criticize martial arts movies and actors too much. Just watch the movie and enjoy the action
  3. Perhaps she just has the hots for you
  4. Well Wing Chun certainly is good if you want a quickly paced martial art, as is muay thai if you think about it (don't know about kendo though).
  5. You guys are right but let's be honest, I understand the guy for being ashamed. It's not always easy to throw your pride down the toilet. Just take it as a learning experience, but I do understand how you feel though.
  6. Nobody has mentioned this already I believe, but perhaps you could consult a psychologist to get to the bottom of your anger and try to resolve it. If money is a problem go to your school councelor as soon as possible and tell him how you feel.
  7. Really does seem exagerated. I'm no expert in martial arts, but I can't imagine any martial artist stopping ten guys trying to jump him at the same time (I could be wrong).
  8. Oufff, that somewhat surprises me, I have done a bit of BJJ, and I don't see how you could have beat him if he has trained for 17 years in Tang soo do (although I don't know much about this art) Are you way stronger physically? how was the fight arranged? I mean was it an all out street-like confrontation (I doubt it) Because if you fought on mats, with rules and all, it surely did limit what your friend could do.

What are the odds that as a Krav Maga fighter you get into a street fight against a BJJ practitioner?? Very not likely. On the other hand, 90% of the Joe blows outside just rumble in a street fight, and this is where Krav Maga puts its focus, on these guys.
  10. Pretty good post, I agree with mostly everything you said. The problem is that it's often the case that the older students will bully on the younger, generally weaker students (they know who to pick on), and they're more often than not more than one. I was always bigger and stronger than the average student of my age in school, so I was a good target for older students. Speaking from my experience, I'm sure if I would have tried to defend myself my face would have been smashed in. They like to assert their authority by pushing you into a locker, giving you a punch in the arm, etc. but it rarely goes farther than that. Rarely will a bully just start hammering on you for no reason. He'll just try to show he's 'superior'. So my advice is that if older students bully you a bit, just let them go unless it's too violent. Don't try to fight back or you'll be KO'd quickly by the gang. However, if it's just another guy of your age who simply wants try to dominate the class, defend yourself with no remorse.
  11. Good post. I seriously wonder also... Perhaps, unless you are a professional fighter, just swinging away is THE best technique. Perhaps...
  12. I agree with you guys, he should start Judo first and then, if he desires, go for BJJ. Better start by knowing how to fight on your feet first with throws and then concentrate on the ground (although Judo does that too, but at a lesser extent).
  13. Nice to see that martial arts can come in handy in the street sometimes
  14. Needless reply from my part, but I also completely agree with what has just been said, it has enlightened me a lot more.
  15. Thanks for the nice description of the fight!!!

  17. I got fooled a few times on e-bay (twice so far), but in general I'm satisfied with the purchases I've made, some pretty good deals.
  18. Oh boy!!! This guy was surely not an experienced Muay Thai fighter!! Wonder how much money Ozzy gave him before the match....
  19. Perhaps, but I'm no so sure grappling is that much better to short people than to tall people. And it's not THAT easy to get in close in a steet fight, the tall guy might have a chance to land a solid one before the shorter one can even make an attack. I'd advantage the taller guy.

  22. For those who don't like the Best of the Best movies I like them. I didn't see the fourth one, but I thought the third one was also pretty good.
  23. In my case, I'd have to say the actor that inspired me the most was Steven Seagal, I just love the techniques used in his movies, very brutal. Second would have to be Van Damme with movies like bloodsport and Lionheart. Third it would be Chuck Norris. I love his fight with that Thai leader at the end of Missing in Action 2. The list goes on including Jackie, Chan, Bruce Lee, Sonny Shiba, etc. but those three were/are my favourites.
  24. Well, to complement your TKD I'd definately go with a grappling art.
  25. No single martial art can bring all of this to an individual, you better start cross-training now and do it for a long long time if you want to become such an accomplished martial artist.
