  1. good luck with it.... the first attempt on a brick is always getting in the right mind set - because its a brick it seems impossible to break to start with.
  2. i imagine she'll be senior..... not really any documentation i can find anywhere on this sort of thing as its rare to hold the belt back, rather than hold teh test back.
  3. dpends on the situation..... the turn would direct teh power inwards and across, wehre as straight would thrust through the target.....
  4. blinfolded is such a good way to practice distance.... but thats pretty much it... at least it helps with the stacnesadn gettign back to your spot

  6. it is amazing how you can auto learn kata / pattersn with loads fo moves.
  7. sand? where from? lol...... i guess if you live on the beach... or if u carry sandwith you,
  8. also - look for things that telegraph your moves.... maybe you grit your teeth slightly before you attack, etc. then try to stop doing them
  9. also flipping leaves you in the air.... which means you cant really alter your direction an so are vulnerable.... but they're really fun moves to do.
  10. its all about perception -especially when enrolling kids..... hours of pain and sweat dont sound enticing till people realise how much fun it really is....

  14. so ti will have taken her 2 to 2.5 years for a bbelt if they let her garde... i wouldnt worry about them if they dont lether garde.... 2.5 years is very quick, she can afford to wait ti out do you knwo what wtf association it is?

  16. no substitute for epxerience..... but failing that the advice is all good, dont stare at one plac too long, and try and look for a pattern in how they move.

  19. well tahts the way to do it - the more advanced the more dedicated they should be. no use having different rules and standards for different grades.

  21. no - but they do get the same sympathy from the law everyone else enjoys...so you have to be careful in how you show any lakc of "sympathy" you may have
  22. yeha - even higher grades, you just see people going through the motions, then picking up their training just for grading time.... realy not good to see.
  23. i suppose.... sorry i have a bit of a weird perspective on things like this - getting beaten, hurt / stopped, etc. just makes me work harder, i need something to work against to actually train well, lacking targets or something ot overcome i struggle to reach my best. So id ignore me and listen to everyone esle
  24. or find someone much better than you to spar against.... that's have ive made most of my significant improvements.... you should learn relatively quickly from that
