  1. but also not necessarily that useful for real Self Defense, but in either case.... i would agree that the media world at large has a large effect on the MA community.
  2. no problems couldnt quite remember what it was.... im probably more like bo-sabum-nimke cos although i instruct relatively regularly i dont run my class, i simply teach on behalf of my sabum-nim
  3. just genearlly breaking can cause damage through impact....
  4. lol..... sabumnim actually.... lol
  5. yes, ok combos themselver are fine... im talking about drilling combos in too much.... they become habbit and pattern forming so logn as you mix them up that can give you an advantage.
  6. they might be in full MA regalia.... doboks, belts everything.... MA thugs.... HEHEEHE trained inthe arts.... "TAE BO FIST GO!!!!" sorry
  7. yes i do... but i have different opinions on TKD training from a lot of people... if by freestyle u mean nhb full contact.... i think everyone who is trainign to defend them selves needs some experience of this [aodhan - do i seem to be saying this alot?!!?!?]
  8. yeah it is a good read.... probably one of the better ones around. very well written... and covers most of the details without going into specifics that arent founded by fact..... thanks for that.
  9. dont they use Tae Bo.... the ancient "asian" art secretly brought to the western world after millenia of development.....
  10. its a bit odd.... if he gave the robbers some warning the guy turned the gun on him.... or ifthe robber seemed erratic [difficult to prove] he could say he feared for his life as the guy might just shoot the place up anyway.... in either of those cases he would be justified.... if the robber was calm and just pointed thegun at the clerk then no legallyhes not.
  11. sort of yeah.... there have been a lot of discussions about people with rediculous numbers of belts in loads of different arts...
  12. as i always say... so long as you know what you're getting out of your trainign then it doesnt really matter
  13. although that isnt always a good thing.... as u can cause damage by ignorming the pain - but i do agree, you start to brush off the minor injuries more lightly.
  14. or realising you're in the wrong dojo and their a bunch of people on anger management courses....lol
  15. most popular place for seasoned MAers.... not sure what the upatek would be like among non MAers
  16. i would say it depends.... you can learn more than one style at a time.... cross traiign is worht while if you have the time.
  17. interesting point.... i woudlnt say it can be invincible.... ill just assume u meant mastery of an art gives you an advantage
  18. DAMN YOU YOU REVEALED OUR SECRETS TO THE WORLD.... hehe
  19. look in thread Dim Mak and maybe PM one of the people who seem like they know what they're on about.... i personally have little trainign in this - sorry
  20. exactly.... os long as you know honestly what ur getting out of your training i dont think it really matters
  21. I dont know why you're making counterpoints to what im saying - we're generally in agreement.... i agree that full contact is a very good and very necessary part of training..... you miss the idea of theory regarding knifehand.... i can practice other similar strikes in a full contact environment, personally i wouldnt choose to use it in full contact any way.... i was just trying ot give an example - there is no real substitute for ful lcontact training.
  22. Well good luck hope you enjoy it here!
  23. would have to agree with both of those.... i think simply because of the aim of teh MMA leagues and the ideas behind them, people will want a larger competition base... but there will always be those groups that fear joining together for whatever reason.
  24. yeah good cycle of defense that... very similar to the responsibilities and requirements made by law [to be sure you're defending yourself]
