lol... i only sleep 6 hours ish, and i have a 3 month holiday now till i start uni in october.... so that 18 hours to go out, see my girlfriend, train,work out, and make a couple of posts.....
yeah i think we probably just should get on with our training and try and make our schools better and more appealing... not by lessening standards.... i think McDojos will always exist.... the nature of people wanting quick results....
i doubt the effectiveness of some of the Olympic style stuff [not WTF in general as a style, just the sparring orientation]. I guess it still comes down to how you train, and teh situation you find yourself in.
that kick isnt actualyl massively difficult, just work on building explosive power from the legs..... judging by his postiion in the picture he took quite a fast run up to this [2 steps is quite normal]. Practice lots of jump kicking on surfaces your not afraid to fall on
i agree but saying sparring in general is uneffective is a bit weird - depends on how you spar.... i spar quite regular with my instructor at full contact and i imagine the same occurs with soem karate schools.
