  5. yeah i dont see any reason for it to go into the olympics... then again i dont realyl know why tkd should be their either.
  6. yeah i was talking about intensity and purpose of trainigng rather than just methods.
  7. yeah i saw the same thing and tend to agree
  8. i dont have much experience with Yaw Wan, but MT is genereally considered one of the more effective MAs, it has some vicious and very effective strikes and trainign methods, coupled with clinch / grappling work makes it hugely effective.
  9. liek i said we're discussing it based on all other things being equal....
  10. yeah.... good if u get in there quickly, dont think its worth losing a pinky though
  11. yeah it does depend on your clothes style.... but its always good to make sure that you can move in them
  12. and why does walking away equate to losing self-respect? I can deal with not being able to win every fight.....
  13. yeah if the option is there and there is minimum risk to you.... it cna be a quick end to things
  14. exactly like i said.... i think very few people go around saying "IM A MASTER!!!"..... not really part of the title.
  15. It really [as with men] depends on the person..... some girls ive trained with really go all out, some dont... same with guys - i'd say because of testosterone more guys are this way, but not necessarily in a good way.
  16. dont break a huge amount, but best break was 2 unspaced free standing rebreakables on each side, jumping split kick.
  17. would anyone say it was a necessity?
  18. it seems interesting.... couple of things that are pretty standard in all modern MA's histories but that's no means a bad thing. Just check it out before making you mind up
  19. that was sort of a thread hijack there.... check on Internal Arts for stuff on KI
  20. Firstly since we're talkign about energy on a real level and not a mystical one you may need to consider the following things: Since you accept the 1st law of Thermodynamics: That heat is energy.... you may need to apply the 0th [zeroth] Law: this is that assuming that the energy [as you suggest] in the body is constant..... irrelevant of the flow of energy; energy will only transfer between a higher concentratino to a lower concentration. Now assuming that i accept that you have free control over blood flow..... the reasons that you suggest that the abdomen is the center of this are actualyl wrong..... any HEATING body - any body in the state of thermodynamic change / flux - will have a core... however a WARM body does not necessarily have a core..... the body is generally considered to be a WARM body not a HEATING although its temperature does fluctuate.
  21. no probs - string theory is really weird any ways.....
  22. from my limited knowledge of this sort of thing PTKD is simply a set of rules for sparring..... it cna be applied to either ITF or WTF and in itself is not a particular style.
  23. thanks thanks for all the support..... this place has been a brilliant discussion area and has really made me look at different ways of training
  24. not listen to on an mp3 CD player.... cds and dvds use different lasers as for the laptop issue could be a whole host of issues. It might be that you got + / - reader writer and the disc is formatted differently... have a look and make sure it all matches up. how old is the laptop?
  25. well i feel better now knowing other people have "little" posting sprees
