    Hello

Welcome Eru, judging by some of your posts you seem to be an interesting man with a lot of input for the boards. Welcome
  2. Hehe, I actually did some weight training on christmas day - making use of the masses of protein in the form of chicken, suasages, nuts that would come from christmas dinner
  3. No, I just explain to him that they can be pretty effective and shouldn't be mocked. Once he started doing that Praying Mantis stance etc. doing all the "hi-ya" noises. I had a nice little spar/play fight with him which made him stop taking the piss tho Now I have him doing Ju Jitsu like a good little boy
  4. Its OK Angus, I don't mind. Carry on
  5. Hey, try checking out the following bands, you might like em: Pennywise Millencolin Rancid Dynamite Boy The Gamits Just adding to your horizons - some of the best music out there is the stuff that is never on the music channels or radio
  6. I was doing weights to their album once (I dont like them anymore) and it just said "I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end it doesn't even matter" I mean, how good is that for a motivational tune to keep you going? lol Personally I have different music for different things. I like have some good punk rock for the warmup and when I'm on the bike, and when pumping iron or shadow boxing/bag punching I'll have something like RATM, Lostprophets, or Adema blaring out loud If I'm performing my patterns then I'll have some of the slower oriental music like Golddragon said... amazing how nice it feels, having these relaxing oriental tunes playing as you perform the pattern/form/kata.
  7. Prodigy, then you get used to them, so you have to have more, or a more powerful sort, then you get used to them. You can get really bad side effects
  8. Aww Deby My heart goes out to the friends and family of that poor guy... so young :/ Yes indeed these terrible things happen, but I don't think anyone can get used to someone they know dying, as you know. Oh well, I'm feeling ok now. Thanks for all the sympathy
  9. Thanks guys
  10. By the way MrDash, feel free to make an introduction in our Introductions section, that way we can all go and say welcome to you properly there
  11. hehe, oh the memories MrDash there are many different ways of tying your belt, but I don't know of any websites which explain. Also, its hard to explain without diagrams. Try asking your instructor or a fellow student when you next go to your class
  12. Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of any fictional books which feature a lot of martial arts? Something reasnobly realistic, not set in the 24th century fighting Alien drug smugglers or anything, I would just like some fictional writing about a martial artist
  13. Lori... ooh, my birthday last friday and now yours this saturday Have a great birthday and an even better next year Enjoy it!
  14. Earlier did you say something about how its 11 hits per second you achieved, not all punches. Could this mean lots of them aren't proper-technique hand strikes, but more of a way of moving them as fast as possible?
  15. I've found one... #taekwondo on Undernet
  16. Thanks Jiggy, I've never even thought in that way before. I think its time to make some changes
  17. Wouldn't dynamic stretching be able to deal with that, though Bon? Sai I don't strive for the splits. I do dynamic stretching for the head height kicks, and isometric simply to keep supple and remove lactic acid
  18. Hey, last night I used some of these tips in sparring a fully grown man, well built, the best Practicioner in our club at this belt rank. I used some of these tips and they really helped. First he tried laying in to me, so I moved around sideways. He then tried it again, I moved around sideways. As he paused to consider what to do, I came in quickly with some shots to the face and a kick to the knee. These tips really work!
  19. At this early stage, a bit more of a physical activity. But I think later on when I really start exploring the arts, I will find the art part.
  20. lol oh yes, sorry Lori hunny! You're great too I feel a bit better... I must have talked to Jen on phone for a total of about 4 hours today... sooo tired but feeling loads better. Thanks to you guys as well Sorry lori!
  21. Doesn't look like she was at all to me, and Deby is far too much of a nice caring person to do that. Why'd you ask that?
  22. Awww Deby, hunny, thanks so much. I'm coping OK, it hasn't sunk in yet, when it does, thats when I'll get upset. But, I'm trying to keep my chin up. If I give in, then, so much has happened that I would just get into a cycle of depression. I'm fighting my way through this, I'll be ok. I'm just so sorry for everyone else involved oh well, I'll just keep trying to live through this and one day I suppose it will get better. :/ thx everybody
  23. I'd like to see some online video evidence that this isn't a fraud if at all possible, please.
  24. And I thought the death this week had stopped... I was woken up this morning by my mum to be told that my grandad had passed away. Does this sadness ever cease?
