Knee to butt? oops :/ Thanks for all of the advice, I'll take it to heart. That phantom chair exercise looks very helpful too!

Erm, the guys from Star Trek. Usually coloured, big ridgey foreheads and agressive. Been a while since I followed Star Trek, Im sure someone can provide a good explanation for me here.

Hmmm, my New Years Resolutions towards the arts are to gain weight, and to train as hard as I can, to meet and break all expectations of me and to generally give it my absoloute best.

lol, I started Martial Arts after first playing Shenmue. I've reaped so many other benefits from it however. -
How much effect do you think a very light weight for an above head military press would have? Say, something prettyverylight, like 15-20kg?

Heh, good words spoken MuayTB1. -
Not that I've been there and done that or anything close, but I'd imagine... You'd have to train very wisely, very hard, push your limits time and time again, make sacrifices, train and synchronise body, mind, and soul, go through emotional turmoil, try and try again until you win, train ever harder, eat even smarter, make even more sacrifices until you maybe get there. But.. go for it.

I meditated last night before I went to sleep, I was fine. Maybe its because normally, its consciousness to unconsciousness, and if you meditate then fall asleep its more a sort of medatitive state to unconsciousness? Dont see any harm in it personally, however.
-
Well, personally I'm not sure about any of this at the moment. Last night I tried the meditational technique on the website, and it worked at clearing my mind and putting me in a state of non-thinking, and, I actually honestly began to feel a tingling sensation around the navel when I concentrated on the supposed Chi point mentioned. I got into meditation again today, reached the same state as before, but there was no feeling even when I tried concentrating. Maybe it is some sort of illusion you only feel because your mind is almost willing yourself to feel it. I'm not really sure on this all, but it was an interesting read. Personally I dont believe in any of those chi powers, maybe it helps with coordinating your body etc.

Damn right Karateka, we should use negative things as something to make us try harder and propel us further, not hinder us.

Welcome Shotochem, I hope you have a great time on this forum Personally, I'm 15 and have been doing Tae Kwon Do for 10-11 months now

At the moment, yes. I have not lived my life yet, there are places I want to go, things I want to do first. However, I would not be afraid to die if it was for my loved ones.

Yes but ZR440, those Olympic shotput throwers probably do speed training also

Hi, I was practicing earlier and I came up with this exercise to practice kicks. Note I have no idea if this is already done by some, thought up by some, or used/discarded by some but anyway here goes: In a normal fighting stance, left leg behind, do a front kick off your right leg, and drop it back behind the left leg. Then look left, and perform a hook kick with your left leg to the side. By now you should have rotated to be facing Left. But the left leg behind, do a front kick, turn + hook kick, turn, front kick, turn + hook kick, etc. etc. Going around 90 degrees with each combo. You could do this with other feet and turn the other way, or you can try incorporating different kicks. I just thought I'd like to show this to you people. Its good if you don't have much room, much like the following thing my Tae Kwon Do instructor used... In Front stance, left leg behind, perform a hand movement (block, punch, strike) then turn 90 degrees to the right into another front stance and perform the move again. Keep doing these with different moves, or the same moves, since it helps develop the skill of doing the move with limited space, whilst also helping with footwork. Hope you guys find some use for these, I apoligise for my bad explanation, but its hard to explain without a video.

I've had them examined by a doctor, but he did examine them pretty quickly and say it was growing pains. Are you suggesting a more thorough check from a doctor more specific on the field of knee/sports injuries?
