Im agree with the people here.. you Should find a good teacher. Avoid to fall in the Claws of a McDojo teacher, you won't learn anything good and you'll lose your money. If you liked karate then why not find a good school and train there, you already know you liked it.. lol Once you are in the world of martial arts, you can keep looking new styles and instructors and look what other styles you enjoy too. Good Luck.

If MMA is what you want.. then you should try one or two of the following styles :BJJ , Wrestling, Submission Wrestling, Sambo for Grappling.. and Muay thai and Boxing for striking. I say it because those are the most popular styles in the world of MMA and the Fighters usually don't train in one well rounded style, they train with several coaches (one for Boxing, One of BJJ, etc..) and they make there own Mix and each fighter develop a style based on there own attributes. I've never heard of that Karate Style you mention, but neither of the Karate Styles have been really sucesfull in MMA.

Our teacher told us that against a weapon, it doesn't matter too much the techniques, its all about Attitude.. You can have 100+ techinques against weapons, but if you aren't sure or you are affraid to use it, none is going to work and you'd get kill. The Best Technique against a weapon is avoid the confrontation.

NO, i've read that story wasn't true. He was name the "CAT" because of this lighting speed movements and because he used to fight on a Karate stance called "Neko Ashi dashi" or the Cat stance.

Hello, Right Now, im doing karate, kickboxing and freestyle jiu jitsu and its going all right. but im agree some people can take 3 styles at the same time others can't... i think you need lots of energy, motivation and FREE time.. lol For example, my karate and kickboxing teacher is the same.. i have 5 days a week with him so I train Karate one hour, have a rest and then kickboxing for another hour.. sometimes its a full two hours karate and the other day a full kickboxing class.. and the jiu jitsu classes are in a totally diferent Schedule 1 or 2 nights a week. Im feeling great with this training.

Can MA be used against other species?
Karateka_latino replied to KickChick's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
well, well, martial arts were created by copying animals moves, but i don't think that will give us the same attributes that animals have. Martial arts were created to be used against human, no animals. So if i get attacked by a Bear, id run as fast as o can and hide. lol Once you get caught by a Bear on a "Bear Hug", you won't have any time to think on techniques, you'd more worry on how get some air. lol Just my 2 cents. lol -

I think the intructors must teach them because the use of elbows, knees and headbutt are part of the Thai boxing are.. But using them in a regular Gym sparring for most people isn't good.. because they can't show to work next day with a cut on there faces or huge body aches. Elbows used right are like very sharped knifes, cut very easily.. Knees can break ribs quickly.. and Headbutt are even worse..

maybe they are talking about kicking someone on the face with stinky feet..That IS a real deadly weapon. lol!
