I have used age uke as a grab/arm twist. With my other arm I went in around the armpit and grabbed the back of the shoulder...then used my leverage to take the person to the ground.

I almost got in a lot of trouble a while ago, we were doing take-downs. We were to grab the "lapel" area of the gi, and when I did (much too fast) my fingers got her bra strap. As I threw her to the tatami, we both heard it snap.

I tend to agree, it isn't something I do, its part of what I am now.

furniture can be moved. do you not have a backyard or garage, or driveway? even if you cannot perfomr the kata as you would at 100% as far as power, speed, proper spaceing, etc. you can stil go through the basic patterns in minimal space. i'm ure your wife would unerstand if a piece of furniture is moved for an hour. mine does. Do you have a yard? I practice in my back yard and side yard whenever I get a chance.

I read that, yes. I found it to be a very good story. The last few lines have always been of particular influence, especially in my karate training.

I find it very useful not just for dojo training but also about learning. The education factor on this site is quite high, and presented very well. I've learned more about other martial arts through this forum than I have reading some books. I think I've gained a better appreciation for the martial arts as a whole, and learned to respect other styles and methods.

That's the easy way out; don't tell the adults the whole story then. It is just what I would do in your situation, as I think its personally the right thing to do.
